Epassporte shitty $500 limit! - HELP

I want to buy a notebook on an online store that costs around $1600 and i wanted to pay it with my epassporte virtual card. The problem is that when i tried to buy it, i realized that i couldn't because of this $500 limit. So I asked on boards about what should I do and ppl told me to send them an e-mail asking for a $1600 limit on 1 day only.

Here is the e-mail that i sent them and their reply and then my reply (that haven't been aswered on more than 24h)

first e-mail:

> Hello guys,

> I want to buy a notebook, and I forgot that there is a limit for the use
> of the virtual card for $500. I though it was just for sending money to
> others epassporte's accounts. I would please like you guys to set a limit

Dear Cardholder,

ePassporte reviews all requests for account limit increases on a case by
case basis. Currently your ePassporte account does not have the minimum
balance to allow the increase that you are requesting. At this time, you
may elect to become an Epassporte select cardholder for a one-time $5 fee.
Upgrading
your account to "Select" will double all starting account limits. The
option to upgrade your account is available when signing into your
ePassporte account.

I hope this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us
if you have any further questions.

Regards,
Dawnesha

my 2 e-mail, with no answer:

Dawnesha,

This won't solve my problem, since when i update i'll have $1000 limit, and
i need to pay my notebook that costs $1600.

Please tell me what you can do for me to solve this problem ok?

Thanks and have a nice day,

Felipe

So how should I solve this? If you have a ICQ or personal e-mail from someone on epassporte please help me ... thanks! :thumbsup

Forget it. It isn't worth your time with epassporte. They will never give you what you want. It is all a scam to play with your float.

I prefer to receive most payments through epassporte. Let 'em play with the float. :D

I may change my tune when I'm making 10k/month but for now it's the best for me.

I dont use epassporte , but if the $500 limit is a daily one, just ask whoever you are buying from if you can pay in three times / days

No, Epassporte isn't a scam, setting very low daily limits is a scam so they have a massive pool of intrest-free money that generates income on the overnight sweep deposits.

freesexxwebsite 10-02-2005 09:50 AM

i thing you should keep around $5000 to increase your cash limit search here some one posted about it.

:thumbsup :thumbsup i warned about this... :)

Choker 10-02-2005 10:07 AM

The $500 limit is a pain but eppassporte has better fraud protection than any service of it's kind. This limit is part of that protection. I process hundreds of eppassporte transactions a week and not once have I had to deal with fraud. When you do bigger volumes and keep a bigger balance they will raise your limits.

seems everyone gets a different answer. The first 2 times i raised my balance they just raised it when i asked. The last time i upped it they needed stuff faxed in and such.. but i was never charged a $5 fee..

That's funny....

I had a similiar convo a month ago when I was inquiring about transferring money from epass to my checking account. It's like I couldn't get a straight answer out of them. They seemed to enjoy running me around in circles instead of shooting straight with me. It took half/dozen emails to get an answer to my question that could have been answered in their first reply :(

felipeav 10-02-2005 12:10 PM

I can't believe they won't raise this limit for 1 day for me. I tried to phone them 3 times, but i get a eletronic message that all their stuff are busy and i should wait. I can't wait 1h on an international (expensive) call.

I've been happy with epassporte for almost 1 year and now they do this with me.

It's only a scam if it's deceptive. I don't think this is deceptive at all. I would of course prefer to have access to all my funds at all times, but I still don't know anyone who does what Epassporte does for me and does it better.

Scam is a pretty strong word to be throwing around.

felipeav 10-02-2005 12:36 PM

Got a reply. Look on what they are telling me:

Dear Cardholder,

Currently your ePassporte account does not have the minimum
balance to allow the increase that you are requesting. You may re-submit
this request when your account balance has met the minimum requirements
($3,000).

I hope this information has been helpfull. Please do not hesitate to

ok, i'll get $1k more on epass with my CC and lets see how this story ends. :(

Yes, you are right.

CybermedAndy 10-02-2005 12:45 PM

I'm trying to send $2500 also right now, and I gotta do it in 5 installments cause of the $500/day limit.

Wouldn't mind so much except you're hit with $25 charge everytime you reload your account. So the wire this cash will ultimately cost me $250

:disgust

woj 10-02-2005 12:47 PM

like someone else suggested it would probably be eaiser to work this out with a merchant rather than epassporte...

Sounds like you're going around in circles, why not just buy the laptop with your (bank) CC in the first place?

Hello Shaliza,

Thanks for the quick support, at least there is one person that can reply an e-mail on less than 24h. :thumbsup

I got an answer from Dawnesha telling me that i should have $3000 on my account to get a $1600 limit but ppl i know are telling me that this $3k ammount is only for $1000 limit and that won't solve my problem. So now, what should I do?

- wait the answer from Risk Management department ??
- get $3000 on my account like Dawnesha is telling me ??

I will wait your reply before doing something.

Thanks and have a nice day,

Felipe

Here's an idea. I know that you can't pull out more than 500$ a day or whatever off of the epass card. Pull out all the money you need to buy it over the next 3-4 days. Go down to the local grocery store and buy a prepaid credit card with mastercard logo. It will cost you probably around 50$ to pay the loading fees. You then call the 1-800 # on the receipt and they can give you your credit card # that day with the expiration date and all the other stuff you need to do a transaction. In other words, you can buy the notebook THAT DAY before even waiting for the card to come in the mail.

I have used prepaid credit cards before to control my spending on Ebay LOL otherwise my cc's would be maxed out. They work great and never get declined as long as you have the money on them. It's just an idea. They work for online, offline in stores, and also as an ATM card just like any other credit card. Just my :2 cents:

spider_x 10-02-2005 02:43 PM

epassporte

Well to eliminate the one time nature of paying at the register for your notebook, you could plan three days in advance and withdraw 500 bucks cash from atms in advance until you get 1600

adultchica 10-02-2005 02:45 PM

Oh, and if you can find the stores that use this site

www.mymccard.com

they are the ones that you can load money on and get the card # and info the same day so you can use it right away instead of waiting to get one in the mail before you can use it. You can run a search on that website for stores in your area that offer the cards through their network.

I guess all of my response was for nothing if you don't have the epassporte card that you can actually pull money out with.........

I didn't even think about that! Duh...my blondness is starting to show. I guess if u live outside USA it won't work

Its a good idea, but doesn't work for brazil. Thanks for your time anyway :thumbsup

why the hell anyone would allow someone else this much control over their money is beyond me..

might as well move back in with your parents and beg for your allowance every week.

Actually, I've found their fraud protection to be pretty bad. I've had to reverse a number of fraudulent transactions that epass had no idea were a problem. I get better scrubbing from my CC processors.

The problem with epass is that they give you very little info about the purchaser, so it's tough to make a desicion about the validity of a purchase.

I don't see;
- real name
- address
- phone number
- ip number

If I got at least that info from epass, I might be a bit more confident in their scrubbing.

V_RocKs 10-03-2005 05:12 AM

I got my limits raised... Then Flashcash (see sig) gave me another card, so I raised it too... Now I can pull out $2000 a day...

As for limits on spending... I pull out $2000, put it into my bank account and then use the Visa debit card to pay for shit... Or I just whip out a CC and pay for it, then pay the CC with epassporte.

felipeav 10-03-2005 04:11 PM

Problem solved. thank god =) now i love epassporte again. LOL!
