I'm losing 100 pounds by the beginning of next summer!

It's going to be tough, but if i don't i'll probably die a very young man, & i'm not going out like that.

I'm looking for good drinks (i drink alot) with splenda in them. Low fat/low salt snacks and other healthy foods with no sugar in them.

By this time next may i will weight 100lbs less & you can bank on that. :thumbsup

TurboAngel 10-01-2005 02:00 PM

Sounds good hun, how are ya?

:)

WarChild 10-01-2005 02:01 PM

May I suggest you go to see a dietician? You'll end up with a diet you can live with that is taylored to you and your specific goals. It's really helpfull. Of course, you'll need to add some exercise too. Stick with it, life is really worth living. It's what made me quit smoking finally.

Good luck to you.

Spunky 10-01-2005 02:03 PM

You can do it!

Alleged Indecent Exposure 10-01-2005 02:05 PM

If you lose 100 pounds, willl you be normal?

I need to lose 75lbs - we should get something together - 1st one to lose 75 gets a prize or something - Im damn sure a few others could do with shedding a pounds as well!!

Its always good to have an incentive.

Marcus Aurelius 10-01-2005 02:08 PM

good luck to you sir, I have the same goal and I have already lost 28 in the first month and I feel great.

Alleged Indecent Exposure 10-01-2005 02:08 PM

I forgot to tell you that diet 7-up kicks ass!

I like sprite better than 7-up, but diet 7-up has splenda and it tastes better than other diet crap! You should drink a ton of water but drink diet 7-up when you need that "sweet" fix.

Sly 10-01-2005 02:11 PM

You should definitely talk to a dietician. Prepare to give up alcohol. :-)

A friend cut out red meat (only fish or chicken), went easy on the carbs, ate more vegetables, and dropped alcohol. Lost a huge amount of weight in just a couple weeks. Add exercise and you're on the right track.

Sly 10-01-2005 02:13 PM

Oh yeh, instead of replacing soda you may want to try and stop drinking it altogether. No soda for a couple weeks and you'll be feeling better, have more energy, AND lose weight. Its difficult, but after a couple days you'll be craving water instead of soda.

loverboy 10-01-2005 02:14 PM

you gotta have lots of motivation, goodluck Pro!

I wish you all the best man! I've been working out for less than a month straight now, and the changes are NOTICABLE already! Everybody's telling me how much better I look already. Not only that but I feel on top of the world, I havn't even changed what I eat, in fact I'm eating much more than I was before working out. The key is lots and I mean LOTS of cardio... for me I do an hour on the elliptical trainer before hitting the weights, then walk home from the gym which takes a good 40 min or so.

I guarantee once you get in your groove you won't want to stop. It becomes addictive. I just set up a home gym last week so when the weather starts getting bad I'll have no excuses what-so-ever.

A few essential tools:

1. Any type of music player with good music is a MUST to keep you pumped during your workout.

2. Log and moniter your workouts... especially your weight lifting routines. It's absolutely incredible how fast you'll go from barely being able to lift 20lbs to 120lbs easy! lol. Basically treat it like you would your business. You can't improve if you're not monitering and analyzing your every move.

3. Obviosly a gym membership or a small home gym...

There's obviously more such as comfortable clothing etc, but I don't feel like typing anymore.

GOOD LUCK!!

The really sad part about that is that the gym is right next door to your home.

keep the high spirit and a lot of walking and water

pocketkangaroo 10-01-2005 03:51 PM

You are doing a great thing, and trust me, it stops becoming hard after the first 2 months.

Some tips from someone who has lost some and continues to:

Make it a lifestyle change, not a diet. When you sit there thinking of how hungry you are or what you want to eat, it sucks. Instead, make eating well the norm and allow yourself to cheat sometimes.

The second is water. Drink atleast a gallon a day. You'll pee like a banchee at first, but your body will adjust. You'll flush out the water in your body, suppress appetite, and ensure your body is working properly to burn that fat.

Furious_Female 10-01-2005 04:21 PM

Good luck dude... DB sucks :Oh crap but it's easy to live with, once you get the hang of it.

Crystal light drinks of any kind are good... I really can't stand aspartame too much... but you can make homemade iced tea with tea bags and Splenda :thumbsup Green tea with Splenda is great too. You can add Splenda to coffee and use skim milk, that'd good hot or iced.

Weight Watchers Smart Ones (in the red box) ... already prepared meals that are usually under 300 calories each. They are great! Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine etc... all similar, easy to make, and tasty.

Also, check out www.nutrisystem.com They have meal plans that will be delivered to your house. They have plans for men and women, because men get to have more calories (you bastards! :winkwink:)

On a serious note though. I run my own personal fitness training business here in Boston and plan on opening my own center soon. I know what I'm talking about and I love it when people make a change in their lives. Also i model and am required to maintain a certain waist size. Anytime you need or have any question shoot me an e-mail submit (AT) brawlik.com

If I was you I would go pick up the book "The Zone Diet" by Barry Sears. You don't have to actually follow "The Zone" but Barry is great at breaking things down and giving you a visual representation of what you can eat and what you shouldn't eat. He even tells you how to eat somewhat healthy at fast food places.

As far as a grocery list is concerned...

Coke Zero, Crystal Light, The new foil Tuna packets are great, All natural peanut butter, No Fat Natural yogurt (great when blended with fruit). Surf over to http://www.bodybuilding.com and look up some reciepes for your own meal replacement protein bars using all natural peanut butter. Pre-bag chicken breast cut into pieces the size of your closed fist. Make food 3 days ahead of time and ziplock all of it.

Eating better is the easy part...making time to eat healthy is the toughest thing to do and is the reason most people fall out of their diets.

Goodluck!

frankfortuna 10-01-2005 04:35 PM

Do you eat a ton? You might want to see if taking Hoodia will help suppress your appetite.

Jer 10-01-2005 04:35 PM

Good luck, pr0!

Like Sly said, I'd stop drinking soda altogether instead of replacing it. It's not that hard. You can try to drink ice tea and juices.

Stopping soda cold has been compared to trying to stop smoking :helpme

I have to adjust my calorie and sugar intake daily from my meals just so I can leave room for a coke or two. Its tough.

Its definitely difficult. I went 6 months without soda then had one for a treat. I started having one a week for about a month. Then started every other day. Then daily. Then 2 a day. I only drink 2 a day, 3 max, but wouldn't mind keeping it at 1. If you drink soda you start to crave it more, but if you don't drink soda the cravings go away. I haven't had one yet today and don't crave, if I have one now I'll crave one later on.

I've had a 20oz and a can today so far. But that will most likely be it. My trick to not having a coke at any point in the day is usually drinking tons of water. Today I have yet to touch the H2O

Vitasoy 10-01-2005 05:43 PM

All the best man, but you can do it

Doctor Dre 10-01-2005 05:56 PM

Loosing 100 pounds that fast isn't good for your body. You are likely to gain it back easily if you stop working out ... loosing it on the long run, by eating healty (over 2-3 years) would be a better alternative ...

Really? I went from drinking soda daily or almost daily to every a few days and not drinking it for weeks and it wasn't hard for me. Now I don't buy soda to drink at home anymore, I only drink it when I go out and I drink juices when I can.

Jer 10-01-2005 06:00 PM

I'm very skinny, but I try and avoid drinking soda.
I would like to eat and drink healthy, since I'm not doing it I try to eat and drink less crap

~Ray 10-01-2005 07:30 PM

P.S. If it's not in your house, you can't eat it... shop smartly.

When I want something sweet, I eat a bowl of cereal with 1.5% to 3% fat per serving.. Tons of those cereals to choose from. 2% milk.
