Webmail compose Any clickable "mailto" link will open in a specific webmail compose window, and you get to choose it. Compatable with Yahoo, gmail, squrrell mail, Horde and many other popular webmail programs.

Tabbrowser Preferences Gives a lot of additional preferences for your tabbed browsing.

miniT Gives functionality to the tabs so you can arrange them on the bar as you like. This comes in handy so you can group the windows the way you want t hem to be. I can't do without this one.

Googlebar Someone wrote an extension that mimics the Google Toolbar for IE. I love this one.

JSlib Required Javascript download for one of these extensions.

Forecast Fox Weather info and precitions on your browser toolbar. I like it a lot.

Tiny URL Creator An extension that hooks right into tinyurl.com and uses their program to make very short urls for you. Can work off right-click on the page too. Handy as hell.

Bookmark Backup I know I had this happen to me, so it's probably happened to you too. All your bookmarks disappear. This extension makes a backup of all your bookmarks every time you close the browser, sorted by day of the week. Loose your bookmarks? Just import these from your last backup. Can't find the URL so JFGI.

LJ is short for "ivejournal" which is a blogging site. Apparently someone wrote an extension where you can blog a post from your browser window without having to go to their site. Neet.

I like the "BlogIt" button in google toolbar and the wordpress plugin that does this for these scripts as well. Awesome for bloggers :)

amazing that 90% of you folks do not say what all these things do... real helpful, I guess I will spend my whole saturday searching for and then reading about extensions... not to mention installing them to find out I can't use them for anything.

BBCode puts BBcode into your right click context menu. So if you have a URL copied, then right click, it lets you paste the URL in url tags or apply to selected text. Same with images, etc etc. Very handy for FORUMS. :)

All the extensions are listed as to what they do on the Extensions pages where you download them. And installing them and uninstalling them, how is that different from normal everyday way of how Firefox works?

broke 10-01-2005 02:36 PM

All in one gestures *ALMOST* makes FF worth using...

Right click... left sweep... and I'm outta here.

Congratulations! You are an idiot.

EviLGuY 10-01-2005 03:14 PM

I try and keep my extensions to a minimum since they do seem to slow down the opening of a new window if you have too many.

I use Adblock, Download Manager Tweak, Measure It (for measuring how many pixels wide or high something is..), Customize Google (does tons of nice Google stuff.. too many to list.) and IE View for the rare time something won't work right in FireFox.

The Truth Hurts 10-01-2005 03:17 PM

I use the Internet Explorer extension...
Turns that firefox turd into a first class browser : )

dunefield 10-01-2005 03:19 PM

i just have the firefox weather extension...

a1ka1ine 10-01-2005 03:27 PM

i like reloadevery its good at keeping sessions alive, also searchstatus - when i go to a page i see its alexa/google ranking which comes in pretty handy

Not sure if you're aware that you can speed up Firefox.

This Tweak will speed up the page loading in firefox:

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return.
Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a
time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once,
which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30.
This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name
it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This
value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts
on information it receives. If you're using a broadband
connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

You entry is a fine example of why not to be under the influence while surfing.

Hard coded and this tweek gives you 30 downloading various parts of the page simotaniously which then makes them think you're a bot, spyder, spammer, or hacker.

Please do alittle research before displaying to everyone that you do not know what you are talking about in reference to this tweek. Hopefully you're more informed with coding your site. Do you even own a site or are just here as a surfer disrespecting posts?

Listen Ryu(tard) --

The limit for network.http.pipelining.maxrequests is 8. Anything higher than 8 has the same effect as setting it to 8.

Do you need the lines of code? I have the binaries.

There is no "tweak" that makes 9 requests.

Then would you care to explain the how this code speeds up Firefox without allowing a higher request than 8?
I am not supprised why your handle is "broke". Love you know-it-all webmasters then cry when some skiddie gains root on your box.

Don't need to and how cute... "You're 'broke'."

Do you not have the FF binaries? Keep speaking out of turn...

You found one of 100,000 pages on the internet that say "here's how to speed up FF" and posted the crap here.

Hrumph... 8 is more than one and might be 8 requests might be faster than 1?

I know it's a difficult concept.
