Should The US Share Control of The Internet With The EU?
Right now the US is saying no way jose. :upsidedow What do you think? |
Should be worldwide...
|
Should be, but won't likely be.

Al Gore created the Internet. Only he should be allowed to control it.
|
1. The US doesn't control the internet. There is more to the Internet than just domain names
2. If the US ever decided to exercise its control in a negative way, it would risk losing that control. It's basically a symbolic control, like the Queen of England, and it can only maintain that symbolic control by not doing anything. |
Oh come on!
The united states would never give up control of the Internet. Because if they did, they wouldn't be able to monitor Al-qeuada (sp?) transmissions. |
The internets belong to us, the people.
Fuck them. |
The US should control it, but leave it mostly alone. Let's keep politics out of it. This risks another network emerging over time. Of course someone would gate one to the other.
Many countries appear to be attempting control within their borders (China for example). Fear is the US imposing its laws on the net. |
the internet belongs to those who write the best exploites.
who controls domain names don't mean shit. preserve the fantasy. |
exactly!

we can't even aggree which peice of sand belongs to who... let alone which blip of light shooting across miles of glass belongs to who. no one controls the internet, which is why it works :P
|
edit: al gore should retain creative control, he did a good job of inventing it so far
|
isn't this supposed to be the world wide web?
america wants to control everything. that's why nobody likes us. |
