Al Gore created the Internet. Only he should be allowed to control it.

1. The US doesn't control the internet. There is more to the Internet than just domain names

2. If the US ever decided to exercise its control in a negative way, it would risk losing that control. It's basically a symbolic control, like the Queen of England, and it can only maintain that symbolic control by not doing anything.

The united states would never give up control of the Internet. Because if they did, they wouldn't be able to monitor Al-qeuada (sp?) transmissions.

Because I live in the EU and have to deal with its maze of byzantine regulations, Orwellian stupidity and lazy overpaid bureaucrats on a daily basis. The EU is just what every small country needs... another layer of bureaucracy passing ridiculous regulations and collecting more taxes so some bureaucrats can pad their expense account and buy more hookers in Brussels.
