Why did Bum Fights get into trouble a while back?

Anyone know what law they broke filming homeless people beating the shit out of each other?

Spunky 09-30-2005 09:28 PM

I think it was called exploitation

If that were the case we would all be in trouble for shooting these broke ass models.

Getting there pussy beat isn't the same as getting there face tattooed or curb checked.

True that. But double anal would rank right up there next to getting curb checked in my book. :1orglaugh

Sure, but most of these bums were under the influence of something ,they didn't know what to expect ,what I seen it seemed improve, not like some whore who knows she will be paid a k for boning a dude with a 10 inch cock

DWB 09-30-2005 09:51 PM

Was it the fighting, which I don't see a problem, or for times when the ran up on one and tied him up like the Bum Hunter? We are sitting here talking trying to figure out what the real problem was.

OG LennyT 09-30-2005 10:04 PM

It's some funny shit. We were watching it a few hours ago, that's what got us to talking about it.

Everything..paying some bum to smash his face into a brick wall while he was whacked is too fucked up..you have to draw the line somewhere

psili 09-30-2005 10:15 PM

I didn't follow the trial, so I'll just guess they lacked a bunch of "proper paperwork".

brizzad 09-30-2005 10:16 PM

they filmed a guy vandalizing a bunch of cars and refused to turn the tape over to the police when asked about it

I'm asking for the LEGAL reason. Since you don't know you can sit back down and continue watching Sponge Bob.

Thanks Brizzad. :thumbsup

you can't pay people to fight on the street. that was one of the biggest problems they faced. additionally, i would imagine they had problems trying to argue that any agreement they signed with a junky was valid or enforceable.

emthree 09-30-2005 11:48 PM

I would like to know as well.
I seen two late 40s female bums searching in our trashcans a few days ago. I thought to myself, caged bum fight! They didnt look too bad off though, had coats, 3 shopping carts with bottles and one was smoking a cig.

WarChild 09-30-2005 11:50 PM

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to stage fights without being state sanctioned. For instance, in most places, you can't just have a boxing match either. You need permits and what not.

elitetec 09-30-2005 11:53 PM

Ha Bumfights i remember that shit had me laughing for a good month

SmokeyTheBear 10-01-2005 09:35 AM

I bet it had alot to do with crimes being commited that they filmed and didn't stop or help..

i.e. guy robbing a ladies purse

i.e. guy vandalizing cars

DaddyHalbucks 10-01-2005 09:41 AM

There were probably alot of violations.

Giorgio_Xo 10-01-2005 09:42 AM

The primary violation was boxing promotion without a license.

Yep. Setting fights without a license. Talk about a classic law school 101 example of Malum in Se vs. Malum Prohibitum

The Ghost 10-01-2005 09:51 AM

DWB, the actual reason they got into trouble is they were having unsanctioned boxing matches. That was it. That's some serious shit in Nevada. Cause the bums were paid, it was a big hoopla and cause all the problems. If they all did it for free, it wouldn't of have been an issue.
