He was accepting the faulty premise of the caller and extended it to an easily destroyable position. The latin term for this form of argument is AD ABSURDUM. You take your opponent's reasoning and apply it to a situation which will lead to graphic and morally reprensible results as a way of pointing out the faultiness of such reasoning/underlying premises. Unfortunately, it made for an easy target since it was so extreme. Maybe he should have just kept race out of it since the FREAKONOMICS piece that the conversation was referring to focused only the AGE of the aborting mothers and their circumstances in coming up with their freaky conclusion.
