I'm really curious to see where that goes, with that Desmond guy and how in the hell he ended up there.

I was so pissed at lastnights show for basically catching us up to where we were last week, but then those fuckers had to show 'the others' chasing 'em down the beach, and then I couldn't be mad anymore, and was just jonesing for more next week. Damn fine writing.

Babagirls 09-29-2005 03:19 PM

that show sucks.

He's been quarantined for a virus he might have. One they became in contact with him, the people stranded on the island might end up with the same virus. The reason no one is rescuing them is because the whole island is possibly quarantined and they know that if the plane crashed there and if the survivors are rescued then can spread the virus to the entire world.

Plus, Walt has the ability to make things a reality just by envisioning it psychically.

No offense but thats just to obvious an assumption and is to easy to see, I think they WANT us to think that. I think this because if they are going to give walt this fantastical power why would they make the MAIN plot so ordinary.

oh snap... that's cool. I wasn't aware of that. I missed a handful of the shows in the last half of the first season.

Ah yes the cliffhanger effect. They seem to push it to it's limit. That's fine, if they eventually have something GOOD to offer to those of us who have been waiting all along.

buddyjuf 09-29-2005 04:32 PM

Best... show... EVER

Evil Chris 09-29-2005 04:34 PM

But it hasn't been brought up that people might know the palne has crashed and they won't rescue them. It is an assumption along with the one that scientists want to see how people would adjust to a plane crash and survive on a stranded island.

The show is like a puzzle, they keep leaving clues everywhere. Walts powers are alluded to in a flashback scene, as well as the appearance of 2 polar bears on the island. Walt was given a stuffed polar bear by his dad when he was a kid and there was a comic book off the flight that had a huge polar bear in it. 2 references = 2 materializations

MissEve 09-29-2005 04:37 PM

I thought last nights episode was a bit of a letdown. I'm wondering if the details of Walts custody hearing will have more bearing in the future because they spent so much time on it. Im definitely looking forward to next week!

Ohhh, doesn't it seem like Jack recognizes Desmond but Desmond doesn't recognize Jack?

In case you missed it, there was a symbol/logo on the shark!

Well that still seems to calculated and obvious. Why would that be the main plot when you have all these supernatural things going on, like the black shadows or ghosts, Jacks dad appearing and when the coffin is found later there is no body yet it is sealed still. Loches' mysterious healing and is no longer a cripple. That maybe a small part of the puzzle but I cant believe that would be the main plot or idea of the show. I have somewhat of a theory but it doesnt add up all the way either. What if the didnt survive the crash, they are dead and the dead they found are really alive, thus all the whispering we hear. Guess we wont know till the end.

I didnt see it myself, gonna rewatch it. If true I was told it is the same symbol that is on all the stuff inside the bunker.

Another thing that leads me away from the typical conclusion of them being guinea pigs is that the raft had to leave asap because monsoon season was about to start and if they waited they would only be able to launch from the other side of the island. So they got way out to see just fine, at least far enough that when the raft broke apart they wouldnt have ended back up on the island. But mysteriously thats exactly where they washed ashore, like the island drew them back in.

Did anyone else happen to notice if you add all the numbers together,
4 8 15 16 23 42 = 108, you see 108 painted on the walls of the bunker as well as the clock thing reset to 108 after the numbers were entered into the computer. I am sure there is more going on with those numbers as well...

"Quaratine" was written on the INSIDE of the hatch, not the outside. So does that mean that Desmund is "safe" and the outside is "bad"?....

;)

http://www.lost-media.com/ is a great "Lost" site with forums, discussions, screencaps, etc...

This show is deep...way deep. Like how about this: "The Numbers" (4 8 15 16 23 42) when added up equal 108, the same number on the "clock" that was reset and counting down. And even more interesting, communication satellites take an average of 108 minutes to orbit the earth....Is it Desmunds responsibilty to "execute" The Numbers up to a communications satellite every 108 minutes in order to prevent something bad from happening?....

Cool show when you pay attention to all the little things going on...

J.

Thanks for the link. There's a lot more going on in this show than I first thought.
