I hate to say it... but it needs to be said... Fuck it. Let the price keep rising. Sure, it will hurt in the near term but it will make cleaner/more renewable fuels more competitive. Hopefully, we reach a point where they attain economies of scale and the price slides down permanently. At that point, the sacrifice and pain of near term economic shock would have paid off... The result: cleaner air, less geopolitical bullshit, more distributed power economics...

You're not going to see government or corporate interest in alternative fuesl until oil climbs over $150/barrel. $150/barrel is about what it would cost to create alternative s as according to sources. I say that's crap and that we could get more energy from other sources , renewable sources if we tried. I think we could brining farming back as a new industry. Farmers growing soy would be oil rich. Imagine that.
