My picks are Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks.

For those who aren't, ahem, biased you have to like the chances of the Lightning again, Ottawa or Philly in the East (I'll be boring and go with Tampa Bay) and in the West, forget the regular season - a young, fast, gritty team like Edmonton or Calgary will go to the Cup.

Watch out for Montreal and yes, Pittsburgh to make things interesting. (Palffy will turn out to be the best off-season/year signing by any team.)

The Leafs? Will get into the playoffs but face one of the strong East teams above and be out Round 1.

Tampa still have a good team, but no goalie !

I hate to agree with a hateful childish idiot like Metaman, but Calgary is my pick to go all the way. They're improved over the team that took them to within one game of winning last time. Tampa won't do it without Habby, Philly is full of regular season heroes like Forsberg who will be injured come playoff time, and it would surprise me if a 40 year old Hasek can hold up through the playoffs for the Sens. Vancouver and Edmonton don't have the goaltending to be contenders, TO is too old, and Montreal and Pittsburgh are still just too thin.

Cant wait to see my Devils playing for the Stanley Cup again, and just remember RANGERS SUCK!!!!!!

Now, take a look at the teams in your list. Notice how every top player on those teams was Canadian, with the exception of Dallas, who had a Canadian goalie. Canadian teams don't like paying 7m+ a year for one player, we didn't care about the cup that much after the NHL went to shit and hired that moron Gary Bettman. We could always watch our stars humiliate the competition at the Olympics and other tournaments.

Now that the playing field is level again, things are going to change. Almost all of the contenders this year are north of the boarder. Why? Because it's time for real hockey again.
