Yup a friend of ours was asked to leave his house in Chatsworth last night by the sheriff around 3am. We put him up for the night and are waiting to hear back from him on how things are.

Damm, time to call the old man, I got family not far from there :/

Thanks for the update, I haven't been watching the news lately. And when I have it's been all about the hurricane messes & Delay issue.

The view of the fire @ 11:15 am on 9/29/05 looking west from Lassen St. in Chatsworth. Straight ahead is Topanga Canyon Blvd. The intersection of Topanga and Lassen is straight ahead.

Crazy ... I remember driving back from LA once and having to detour to stay ahead of the fires. They closed down the freeway and we stopped and grabbed something to eat, we came back out and our car was covered in ash. This was two years ago when the fires got real bad and many evacuated SD and the LA area.

Just got this update from my brother.

Bell Canyon and Oak Park is getting hit hard. The fire is getting close to Calabasas near the border of Old Agoura.

I am seeing ash fall from the sky now.

Like snow.

Dalai lama 09-29-2005 04:54 PM

It's heading fast so i've heard.

ItBurnsWhenIpee 09-29-2005 05:22 PM

I live pretty far away, in Manhattan Beach, but the smoke is hanging out over the water on the horizon, and I can see it above the Santa Monica mountains. It made the sunset beat red last night.

Red Ezra 09-29-2005 09:54 PM

it's less than a mile from me but I am not in a canyon - ash has been falling on the house all day - the air smells like burnt ass - I have a lot of friends that had to evac today - what a shitty feeling leaving all your possesions behind with the thought they might not be there when you come back - the fire fighters are doing an amazing job.

I'm about 10 miles out in Sherman Oaks but still part of the San Pornando Valley! Ash has been falling all day and smells like burnt wood. Its the only time we get anything like snow around here.
