Turbo or small block...
Trying to help my lil' bro make a decision. What do you guys think. Project car is an S10. He currently has access to a one of kind turbo kit, headers, etc. for his current 4 cyl... or he can drop in a 327 for around same amount of mod work/costs... both he will lose all accessories, drop in sound system losing extra battery, air conditioning... etc. What do you guys think? :helpme

i am going to say turbo just because i love the sound of a blow off valve :1orglaugh
|
Oh yeah, forgot to mention its getting bagged as well... so weight is an issue.
|
Id go with the 327.
Oh and for shits and giggles, a 3 on the tree. Always fun in a truck. |
3 on the tree - that's what I had in a demo derby car I had
4.1 litre Ford Falcon XC (1977 I think) Got 4th out of 45 cars Strong mutha fucka |
turbo if he's a speed freak :) who cares about accessories. lol
or buy that fake turbo noise maker and keep the asthetics overall. heh |
Turbo :) all the way
|
turbo sounds like more fun!
|
yeah a car is not a car if it aint up to speeeeeed. lol
and plus gotta love that blow off pssshhhhht sound. yeah! |
turbo tweak it and it will rock
|
If it's a decent 327 it's going to make more power than the stock 4 cylinder with a turbo and it will be steady power, you won't have to wait for the turbo to kick in.
The 4 cylinders in S10's aren't really all that hot to begin with. Might be easier to do the turbo though I guess. |
Just checked and if it's a 2.2 they only have like 120 hp at 5000 RPM. Pretty weak motor to bother investing any money in. Go with the 327.
