Google Adwords just plain sucks now...
I used to have a keyword I paid 5 cents a click for...
It got clicked about 50 times a day... It sold a product twice daily for $40 total payout. I made $37.50 everyday... No one else targeted the keyword... ever... Then one day Google says the keyword is deactivated, either increase its production or pay 20 cents per click for it. It already got 20% CTR! Which is about the .5% or whatever their threshold is... Now I pay $10 a day for the same fucking keyword... Which means I will overpay $2737.50 a year for something that was costing me $912.50 a year... Googles new rules are a fucking sham... How can I have to pay 20 cents for a fucking word that has NO competition? IPO was bad news... Google is for the birds now.. |
I think you're missing the point..... you're still paying for it! Capitalism at it's best. Too bad it happened to you though.

It's great for ADSENSE webmasters though. I love those sweet $1+ per click keywords :)
|
if you do high volume you can ask them specifically about it and get an explanation.

Yeah, I was reall pissed when I noticed al my keywords jumped to .20 and .30 cents. I think this might be a way google is trying to stop porn.
|

If you haven't been caught yet, you haven't been doing this (clickfrauding) for very long. All of the big revenues at Google come from AdWords advertisers. The content network (personal AdSense publishers) represent <10% of the overall impressions that Google's AdWords ads receive. They'll defend the [apparent] integrity of their advertisers' confidence in their program at any cost. |

google logs everything. don't think that they don't

i clicked on an adword today and the link wouldn't work. (it was trying to reach a google address though)
i'd sure be pissed as fuck if that was my link. :( |
I've really had to focus/monitor my keywords lately now that I'm paying 0.20-30 a click. :(

there is problably a rep you can talk to |
im in the same boat your are..... Google has more than tripled my overhead now. and on top of that i was told by a sponsor that will remain nameless for now, that i can no longer use ad words to promote thier program. what b.s huh, i was sending at least 10 joins a day using ad words now i dont push that sponsor at all.

Adsence killed adwords, I mean everyone cheats adsence and it is what makes adwords so expensive now.
But Google don't give a flying lizard about it. If not friends and family it's emails saying click this here and I will email you a blah blah. Or click this add to enter the members area. You name it, it's being done. The only way is to start a coalition. Revolt!!! :1orglaugh |

you have to know how to use it

You are still paying it though right? Welcome to the largest competitor increasing their prices :)

The amount of Adsense cheating nowadays is totally out of hand...I hope Google do put a stop to it real soon...

Google's system is quite complicated and can be frustrating. By the key to getting your CPC as low as possible is to maximum Click-throughs. For ads that get a very high % of CTs the cost per click will drop and your exposure (ranking) will increase.
I struggled for months until their reps finally gave me a very good explanation how things work. Basically, bid as much as you can afford to get the top spots and keep tweaking until you get a very high CTR (of course, this depends on the keyword). Then you will "own" the top spot and you'll see your CPC drop. I have several keywords at 40%+ CTR and virtually own the very top placement - in blue above the search results. It's not fair, it's not easy and it is frustrating but if you do things right it should work for you. |
