well, to make this thread an informative one, you can make it work but it is a LOT of coding and hassle, i think i will just find another way to make this rollover. which is a shame because it looks perfect in FF and opera but shitty in IE :(

cryyyyy, learn to use the slicing tool on photoshop and gif, it works wonders :winkwink:

cut it up so each square can look its best and still be 128 colors or 256 which ever you pick..

gif does not support full alpha transparency!! i.e. it dithers, and doesnt do grades of alpha.

well if you need such a alpha enriched site use flash.. flash is pretty much standard anymore

good point but i dont have the time/patience at the moment to learn flash :(
