Why would someone link to you for no reason?
 

I got 6 blogs linked to me and i dont know why. I never trade links with anyone so this is puzzleing.

could this be why my search engines ranking just went all to hell?

You know if i had page rank i would not worry. but in 5 years i never trades a single link with another site and allways did well with the serch engines. Now these sites are linked to me and my search engine traffic is down buy allmost 40%. . just makes me a little worried.

Search engines do not drop your rankings because of sites linked to you. If this was so, it would be cheaper for someone to build a large network of crappy sites to link to competition to drop there rankings. You can't control who links to your site. If you are losing SE traffic, it is for a different reason, don't let anyone here tell you otherwise.

Also, like MrIzzz said, they are free non-recip backlinks. That has probably actually helped you, not hurt you.

well i reall dont knows but the blogs that are linked to me are going after the same keywords. It might just be nothing and i am makina a big deal for no reason.

Duplicate content is your problem if those sites linking to you scarped yours.

BTW sites linking to you can hurt you. If you get few hundred thousand links in a short period of time it sure does hurt. It's called "google bowling".

mrkris you should check your facts, if you are taking them from google webmaster pages read them carefully.

That is not entirely true. If someone is linking to you that is 'unranked' or a PR0 it's not a great thing --- however, unless it's from a domain that's been seriously penalized it will not hurt you. Being linked to by someone from a 'bad neighborhood' can hurt, but from the sound of it this is not the case.

Do they have some PR? If they are a PR1 or up don't sweat it.

Dear Hornydog4cooter, those sites are so called "made for adsense". They scarpe others content and hope those pages get indexed by msn and yahoo. They put adsense or similar stuff on those pages and money rolls in. You are just a victim.

Those domains live about couple of months so you get rid of them pretty soon.

bloggers dont work the same as BUSINESS blogs
there a lot of amateur sites out there - which were called blogs to begin with before everyone and their grandma got one to to start making money of them .. bloggers naturally just linked other sites they liked - check out www.blogroll.com - its a tool for bloggers that when they find a site they press a button in their browser and it auto adds another site to their own blog instantly - because they like - thats how the blogoverse works

I got really pissed because some shitty blogs were auto link trading with my index pages so he was trading links with one of my PR4 sites in exchange for his PR0 whateverxxxbullshit.blogspot.com. He put a shitload of them on there. I deleted them all and had to close down my auto link trades because of one or two cheaters. Another guy would just leave my link up for a week and take them down. Glad I keep an eye on who I trade links with.

They are just linking to me thats all. They do not have any picutures of mine on there site. i am really over it now. Moving stuff around so we will see.
