Which holiday is the biggest waste of time?
 

I was thinking about this yesterday. We have way too many official and non-official holidays. Some where people get a day off and others where they don't. But they all add up to society running to the stores to buy shit they don't need to "celebrate" a useless holiday.

Some are valuable I guess... like Mother's Day and Father's Day. I suppose it's good to have days like that. Then there are others that make me shake my head.

Example... Halloween. What's the friggin point? The stores get the kids pumped up about it from about mid September. That means for at least 5 weeks we have to see Halloween decorations everywhere. Almost as bad as Christmas, which at least is justifiable since it's the biggest Christian holiday in the world.

I think they're all pretty useless.

Christmas, Easter = Hallmark banking off religion.
Thanksgiving = Hallmark banking off a country being taken over.
Valentines = Hallmark banking off a dude's nuts in a jar.

Etc. Etc.

only ones i can think of is easter, who the fuck is the easter bunny.

halloween, who invented that shit anyway. when i hand out candy i put 1 in and take 5 out. i always win.

I understand most religious holidays, but it's sad that they're all about money.

christmas and easter arent even christian holidays, they are pagan holidays

all of them... Just a reason to take days off when dealing with clients that take 3 times as longer than normally needed.

I hate holidays.

I gotta admit I used to love the stat holidays as it meant a day off work.
But that was back in my GMan days.

I like holidays to get a day off or an extra long weekend. The only thing that bothers me is that if/when I decide to work or do any kind of business instead of partying, all the priority mail services and all the banks are closed. It makes business shut down for a brief moment. Business needs to be 24/7.
