Amsterdam Webmasters: HELP ME - NEED A PLACE TO SUBLET!
 

Calling all Amsterdam Webmasters

I'm looking for a 1 bedroom apartment to rent on a monthly basis, in Amsterdam, preferably by Leidseplein

Anyone know of local landlords, or know of anybody trying to go on vacation?

I'd be interested in such a sublet, for one month at a time, 2-4 times per year, beginning in January.

It would be great if I wouldn't get charged American tourist prices -- perhaps one of you would be willing to rent it for me at a good price, and let me pay you upfront with some extra money for your troubles? ;)

It will be a lot easier to rent a suite at some descent hotel on a monthly basis, if it is not during high season you can probably get it close to what you would be paying for renting a apartment

It doesnt really work that easy unless you can find something through a friend, not through a company. If you want to live decent in this area you need to talk to some of the companies who rent out places here. Usually they want proof of income, 2 months escrow, 1 month rent and up to 1 month rent for their their help upfront. A nice place in this area with 1 bedroom will cost you 800 and up.

Unless like i said you know someone whos just gonna ask you to pay your rent without all the extra crap. But then you have to be lucky.

$800 isn't the problem -- it's that i'd rather only pay for the time i'm staying (one month), plus maybe a 50% of monthly payment for deposit.

But you're right Franck, to find someone who would be willing to do that, I would be lucky.

On the otherhand, if you've been in Amsterdam your whole life, I'm guessing you would probably have the local connections to help me out.

Anyone with local connections in Amsterdam feel like earning an extra buck, and helping a nice guy out?

I honestly cant help you. I can only suggest google. And also this company direct wonen, they helped me last year. Google for them as well.
