I'd LOVE to have them :) If you don't wanna make the link public just drop me a line with subject GFY (so my filter don't shitcan it) admin @ bitching-galleries . com

Thanks :)

Check out the Neil Pert /YYZ video on that link I posted. It's a CGI video done of a virtual drummer playing in time with the music. Fucking wicked.

tristan_D 09-28-2005 06:15 PM

we have had "the best guitatrist" thread, what about "the best drummer" thread? I think drummers are underrated among all the band members. since I am a U2 fanatic I would go with Larry Mullen Jr. what about you?

There ya go....enjoy....it's both clinic dvd's together

http://www.servergenius.com/mike_portnoy.mpg

ServerGenius 09-29-2005 05:34 AM

the vids contain great insight in dream theaters music and how to play it....
quite good clinic....a lot of the stuff is a lot easier to play once you know how
it's build up....Mike slows everything down....and explains the patterns and
the counting......it helped me a lot playing more complex progressive stuff.... :thumbsup

ServerGenius 09-29-2005 05:50 AM

I'm just listening to it now again......it rocks :thumbsup

cool the link I posted before is over 3 hours of mike portnoy together with
all dream theater and liquid tension members.....it contains a lot of their music
together with a lot of explanations on how to play it.....I love good clinics.
I have another of dave weckl and simon phillips. They provide a lot of insight
which is really hard to discover by just listening to their music.

Playing music and for me especially drums is a great stress reliever.....better
than drugs :upsidedow the only thing better is the 2 combined :1orglaugh

ServerGenius 09-29-2005 06:05 AM

These vids both contain several LONG drum solo's aswell....they are a bit
depressing....coz they're just too hard to play.....at least for me. :winkwink:

Oh and it contains a lot of live stuff aswell

Thanks for the insight! I bookmarked this thread so I can come back and check stuff out as I have time. I don't play drums (or any instrument for that matter) but I love music of just about any kind. And I'm hella jealous of anyone who is musically inclined. :)

I love The Cream...any starting band has played White Room...some other
favorite drummers of me are: Dave Weckl, Simon Phillips, Wiliam Calhoun, Chad
Smith, Ian Pace, Dennis Chambers (saw him recently with Santana) just to name
a few :winkwink:
