It's only art. Whether it's photography, video or a painting. Just because it's art doesn't mean that kids should or need to see it. However, a responsible adult who can explain and teach should determine what they feel is right for their children.

How dare she take her kids to a place of culture and education, what the hell was she thinking? Why on earth would that mom have chosen to bypass the board of directors and other gallery consultants, having the museum to hang that piece of work. The only ownage in this thread are the retards blaming the mom for something beyond her control. Perhaps if your parents showed you some of the finer things in life you would be able to leave your bedroom and function in actual society and around other living, breathing people.

that said, the museum of course should have had some sort of warning before entering that section.
