Which Jimi Hendrix live concert dvd's to buy
 

Im browsing ebay but i see so many different dvd's. Anyway own any that you can really recommend?

Very few of Hendrix' concerts were released as standalone albums.

"Jimi Hendrix Plays Monterey" is maybe the pick: certainly the most interesting. But it's a bit short, so you might prefer "In the West" which is a compilation of various performances, including Monterey and Woodstock. Just be warned that if you have the boxed set "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" you will aready have most of the tracks.

I don't think his live albums are his best, although they include some great tracks. "Are You Experienced", "Axis: Bold as Love" and "Electric Ladyland" are my favorites.

I have Monterey on cd so i prefer to buy another show on dvd. Electric Ladyland has been in my cd player for the last few days. Awesome cd.

There is a box set that has a show from each of 4 different years, 67, 68,69,70 and showcases his evolvement as a performer with the different groups that backed him.

All the shows are amazing and you can't go wrong with it.

Monterey is the best, he was tripping the whole time and peaked during his set.. unreal
