Have you ever thought about giving up the industry for a girlfriend/boyfriend??

I was just having this discussion with my boyfriend, have you ever thought about leaving the industry because of a girlfriend/boyfriend????

MrIzzz 09-26-2005 12:05 AM

nope, however if i did make a large sum of money in this industry i would use it to invets in a much stabler business, seeing that so many adult businesses only flourish for a several year time span

WiredGuy 09-26-2005 12:11 AM

I wouldn't leave the business but I'd consider reducing my attendance at shows if that bothered her.
WG

Rictor 09-26-2005 12:13 AM

I did once around 1997. Lasted about a year. Big mistake, I lost tens of thousands of dollars and had to start over from scratch when I got back in.

I didn't think I would either, until the last few days! I'm ready to walk away forever, and not give a shit! :winkwink: I'm happier then I think I've ever been! And he doesn't even really like porn! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Pornopat 09-26-2005 12:24 AM

Only if it would lead me in to temptation....
:)

TDF 09-26-2005 12:24 AM

lol..hell to the no

fatal attraction 09-26-2005 12:32 AM

Oops, forgot to add Charles.....talking about a Dec. wedding, you'll be invited for sure! :winkwink: And noooooooo everyone is asking me, he is NOT in our industry at all!!!! :)

butterflybucks 09-26-2005 12:33 AM

I love my work, and will maintain that attitude through any relationship

Barefootsies 09-26-2005 12:44 AM

Nah.

If I left it would because I wanted to. Anyone who knows me on a personal level knows it's part of the package deal. So it's either take it, or accept it. Or they can move on.

I do not talk about it with friends or family unless they ask. So unlike some others in the industry I do not use it as a tool to be cool, or prance around like it's a badge of honor.

Same as I would not date a stripper because of their occupation, I would not expect someone with a problem for what I do as a career to date me. Simple, and fair. If they do not like it, there are other fish in the sea.

:1orglaugh ummm, ok. That's what I said for 4 years!

JeffsDesigns 09-26-2005 12:49 AM

Yes..I did..for about a year.
Been in the business for 10 years, sold out on my sites and left Netpond, where I worked. I got into doing mainstream websites for some of the largest companies in the midwest..but got tired of the corporate bs and came back.
I should have never left.
I lost tons of clients, I did designs for.
Some of them are the biggest names in adult.

Stacey_JoinRightNow 09-26-2005 12:49 AM

Noh...

If only the love I felt is enough to give up... I think not! If he respects and understands me, he will also accept everything I have and everything I do,... :)

kaori 09-26-2005 12:53 AM

nope, I'd never give it up.. maybe if I was talent...

XX_RydeR 09-26-2005 12:56 AM

I have considerd it, but dont think i could go through with it.

Marie 09-26-2005 12:57 AM

I would never leave the industry for anyone except for myself. If people don't accept that part of me, they don't accept me.

Anyway, I almost never had a problem with it. The few people that told me they didn't appreciate what I do for a living... I laughed them right in the face.

Being a girl and living in the netherlands may make my situation a whole lot easier than some of you, though.

JeffsDesigns 09-26-2005 01:03 AM

I wouldn't give it up unless you are prepared to give it up totally.
The only reason, I cam back is because, many know me and done business with me.

I agree with this to a point....my boyfriend has not asked me to quit the industry! He is very much in the public eye. And it's my decision! He even offered to retire, but he'd be miserable not jumping off buildings on fire and jumping out of planes and all the crazy stuff he does! He says we can make both work, but I know there is no way!

WG

bikinihouse 09-26-2005 01:09 AM

I'm not in the adult industry, but I'd definitely leave any industry for someone I really care for.

AmeliaG 09-26-2005 02:31 AM

Glad you are happy, girl.

I think the answer depends on what the reasons for leaving would be i.e. does he want you to come join him at his business or does he want you to spend your time globetrotting with him in his yacht or does he not trust you or is he hung up about sex or etc.

V_RocKs 09-26-2005 02:32 AM

My girlfriend gave me a bunch of shit about the business...

I gave her the door...

She thought it was the right move...

Eventually she ran out of money... seems the lifestyle I put her in wasn't sustainable on her income...

She came back...

She went to a show and met all of the nice "business" people I work with...

She changed her toon and thought about joining a company in the office... (she does various shit like Quickbooks...)

Now she sucks my dick like a pornstar!

Thank YOU Tom Leykis!

justsexxx 09-26-2005 03:09 AM

I won't. Better date a girl/man from the industry ;-)

Paul Markham 09-26-2005 03:19 AM

I married my second wife while I was doing this job part time. She told me it was no porn or no her.

I'm on my third wife now, who's in the studio shooting this lovely.

Hey Amelia!!!!! He told me we would work it out, I didn't have to quit. But I know that's not possible, he's too much in the public eye. He gets paid alot to make others look good. and he's just so damn cute doing it! hehehehe!

Rui 09-26-2005 03:34 AM

No way...she would have to accept it, I would agree to be "lower profile" tho

Sarah_Jayne 09-26-2005 03:37 AM

No because anyone that had any real issues with me being in this industry wouldn't be the right person for me anyway.

fatal attraction 09-26-2005 03:44 AM

When I started this thread, I don't think I really made it clear. He's not asking me to quit, but it might interfer with his career.....I'd rather jump off buildings with him them have him submit galleries with me! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Violetta 09-26-2005 06:45 AM

my gf wants me out, but heck no. I love these money

you are dumb 09-26-2005 06:50 AM

if the being in the "industry" means sucking cocks on camera and taking it in the ass - i'd have never entered it in the first place.

Marshal 09-26-2005 08:07 AM

i actually know someone who gave up all because of the gf... ;)

HorseShit 09-26-2005 08:17 AM

I love her :thumbsup

afx 09-26-2005 08:23 AM

I wouldn't go out with someone that isn't open-minded to accept it as a normal business. :pimp

Cirrus 09-26-2005 08:26 AM

Yes I would

Pete-KT 09-26-2005 08:28 AM

Nope never would if she cant trust me enough to let me do my job then she doesnt deserve me
