dude, since this is being discussed ongoingly here, I can only tell you my opinion...... for one thing I wouldn't have brought private shit like this to the board at all..... unless it's fake drama, then have at it.

Second, and this is the most important point...... I would go deal with that clown. I wouldn't talk about what I'm going to do, I wouldn't ramble on about what I should or might do or what-have-you.... I would go deal with him.

It's a grey area in the law. You can threaten, but until you do something there's nothing the cops can do. IF he gets hurt, THEN your ass is in a sling, wether you did anything or not.

Yup, that's a threat. You probably violated at least 1 law(federal + state) by making a threat via email, I'm sure you violated your ISPs AUP/TOS. :D

That's my thinking too. While reading Dagwolf's reply to me it occured to me that that guy might get riled and come a-visiting and do some more damage, or try to.

I understand your plight here, I really do. I know you're emotional about this situation, and you're upset that you weren't there to protect your wife. Shit happens man. Luckily for everyone involved it sounds like she's going to be okay. That's the most important thing in this situation, really.

Going forward, don't make public records of what you would like to do to this guy. It's just bad policy and more trouble than it's worth. If you see him, and snap, that's one thing... Making elaborate plans is quite another. Certainly don't give him any warning for what might happen, it just lets him get prepared for it.

Take care of your wife, and cool down a little bit. Things will be much clearer when your head clears from this incident. :2 cents:

Take an equilizer with you and deal with him. I'm big, 6'4", 245 lbs, some fat but still carry quite a bit of muscle, and over 7 years trained in Thai boxing..... but I'm not foolish enough to think I'm the toughest baddest thing out there. Do you know anyone who would pay this guy a visit on your behalf and put the fear of God in him? That might be your next best alternative. I think you might be opening yourself up for a whole other world of hurt if you simply "fuck" with the guy and go after his reputation in his personal life. The authorities tend to side with the asshole in too many cases like this.

don't worry I am a pussy when it comes to fighting as well, your not the only one. I been getting death threats from my gf ex boyfriend, cops are handling it quite well surprizingly, and if that don't work... well you know thats what friends are for.

If the percentage of badasses:pussies was anywhere near as high as the online posturing would lead you to believe, you wouldn't be able to walk to the corner store without wading through fistfights. Since that's not the way it is, the obviouls conclusion is that most of the "badasses" are just blowhards.

Don't be so sure. Defending yourself physically for the first time could be kind of a milestone for you. As primitive as it sounds, I think it's hard to really know yourself if you haven't had to put up your dukes at least once. Bruises and egos do heal with time, even if you get your ass kicked. Consider this: if this guy has been making death threats and knows where you are but hasn't actually showed up yet, he's probably the bigger pussy of the two of you.

I agree with what CDSmith wrote earlier. Just do it. Why talk about it on a board? Why e-mail with the guy? Why let him know something is even coming?

He hurt your wife, and in my book, that is worse than hurting yourself. I'm not sure if you are looking for attention from this, or justification on doing something. Personally, if the cops won't do anything, then do it yourself. Unless you are on probation, you can afford an assault charge. When the judge finds out why you did it, you'll get a slap on the wrist.

I don't think threats work on a guy who hits women. Go beat that guys ass till he goes on coma.

If someone laid a finger on a family member, i wouldn't say anything to anyone.. including the police..

I just ran into a situation where an ex-employee was threatening a client and slandering him all over the globe. They contacted the police and they said they couldn't do anything because she wasn't specific in her threats.

However, I'd hire a team of flamers to fuck him up literally. I hate violence against women.
