Music on The PC

I wanna get a Midi Controller to hook up to my PC however...

The wife...

I must admit she probably got her fill of me playing fucked up shit alot in our early day through a GK Amp with the neighbors pounding on the wall.

Anyways I was down at Fry's today and saw a great midi controller and plug in interface that would hook the Jackson up to the PC flawlessly.

I like playing but never really got into hooking up the guitar to the PC to record I just jam in my garauge alot with head phones. But getting this device would bring the guitar back in her life and she knows it.

I am so tempted to bag it but the wife said no.

Should I tell her to shove it and get it or listen and not get it?

It would be cool to pop fast loops and riffs for my work once in a while, but ultimatly I know I would probably flip out on it and play more than work with it. :Oh crap

Same with my wife and my keyboards.... I got it patched into my pc and have a lot of fun. I'm not so sure that anybody else would enjoy it though. :thumbsup I still use headphones when she is around.

Get a high quality headphone set up, so that you don't always have to make her suffer through everything. Find a middle ground...

But I like making her suffer.
Its a game we play after 12 years.]

But yeah I already got some pretty great headsets I an not concerned about that.
However the strings even though not jacked in still can be heard, we share the same office and work together.
I know it would bug the shit out of her.

I think I am starting to decide now.

I hear you... my girl is still trying to understand the necessity of having surround setups in every room of the house, and why everything has to be played so loud. After 5 years, I've noticed we seem to have the same conversation/ pseudo argument over music and sound levels over and over again.

BTW which controller are you looking at?

Its really nothing special, I just know what the box looks like at this point, it was in the MIDI section/Music section. Wish I could remember the name though.

It had software for emulated Peddal's and racks. It looked pretty good LOL, I will set ya up a pic and model brand if I get it.

It was only like 99 Bucks, pretty cheap but it definatly looked effective and was pretty small. Has 1/4 Inch and Midi jack in it with a AC cord and the leads to the PC for recording or emulation.

Good times... have some fun!!! I was running directly from my Extigy for a bit, new setup has an Audigy, so controllers and recording built in.... Nothing I would make a professional release from, but fun to fuck around with.

Thats what I am thinking, I am always patching together D&B or various loops and some guitar loops or riffs/ effects for overlay's would be a nice accent when the time call's for audio frills samples on some video productions.

Nothing Hardcore of the such for pro studio work.
