Any linux sys admins available for some work tonight?

I just got a new server, and I would love for someone to sit on icq with me and work with me through some shit?

right now there are a few things I need help with, but more things will probably come...I will pay someone in cash, traffic or server space ;)

I can almost guarantee the shit is simple, but I am pretty new to shit and need someone to baby me a little

post here if you are interested, and I would prefer someone with tons of experience and references

You're welcome to ask me some questions, and I should only say " I don't know " 3 out of 5 times.

well, the server is all setup, but I am having some troubles with SSL

When i load up my site, http://www.mysite.com it loads fine, but when someone clicks on a link that requires a SSL, like https://www.mysite.com/aLogIn.php, I get "the page cannot be found". and if I go to https://www.mysite.com, it gives me the "There is no website configured at this address." page from cpanel.

someone told me to chek the SSL sytnax in the httpd.conf file, but fuck if I know what I am looking for

Does it work if you try:

https://mysite.com or https://mysite.com/alogin.php ( note no WWW )...

Let me know

Jace: unrelated, and odd question.... are you from NC? I met a guy once in a UPS store.. and I could have sworn they were from your glass site.

You shouldn't have to edit manually the apache config file.

Between WHM & Cpanel, you should be able to do it.

Your certificate has to have been issued to the proper level... I do stuff like this for shopping carts ... and I know MikeSouth was doing the same.

If you want, I can take a look at it...

I then need:

WHM user/pass and SSH user/pass as well as Cpanel u/p for that site.
You can and should change everything afterwards.
Also, need to get the files that the ssl issuer sent you.

You can ICQ me or email at adult -at- pdghosting.com

Still around for one-two hours.

Jace I'm curious, why don't you have a managed hosting service? It really isn't that much more expensive than unmanaged.

i bought this box so I could start a small virtual hosting thing for my clients that I have been gathering. I have two other managed servers with other hosts, but I figured it was time for me to learn to handle my own box, which is what this was for
