Today's model that I was suppose to fly out screwed me over! She sent me a ton of pics and I spoke with her several times... don't understand! This is "J's" email...

"I went to go pick up my ticket this morning. I gave them the info. They could not give it to me because it was reserved for "J". I do not know if you know my real name is "K.L." I really want to work with you I tried to call you and no one was answering. I did not want you to think I just did not come I will try to call again. The lady told me there is another flight at 5pm today/ She thinks you can transfer the ticket.".

I'll be the first to admit that I waited 3 weeks to shoot "J" and it was because of $$$, which I didn't have. Now, things are different... I got a "player" in the biz giving me thousands for content, so I don't have to worry.

Let me state right here that I have very little to say in favor of the "participant" school of photography and video, POV or whatever you want to call it. I do know one guy who does it, and I even count him as a friend for the most part, but that is probably the thing I like least about him.

Basically, I like women and I DON'T like the "I fucked her" way of talking about models. Almost all of the models I work with (and I'm sure Aaron, Bruce, and most of the legit content providers on this board will back me up on this) are actually pretty sweet gals who deserve better than the verbal abuse a lot of the board's morons heap upon them.

I particularly don't like your use of the expression "I convinced her to give me a BJ." Basically, I will not "convince" a model to do anything she isn't already inclined to do. About as far as I will go with a girl is to point out that the more she'll do, the more business she'll get out of me (NOT, I'll pay you more to do [whatever]). I think the fact that I apply NO pressure whatsoever beyond what I just said is why I get referrals from models I've worked with, and why they regale me with stories of the ham-handed ways they are treated by guys like you.

Now Tom (and Aaron), as a fellow content producer [with a sterling reputation with my models], I agree with you wholeheartedly. If you don't treat the models as professionals with respect, you're going to get a nasty reputation and it's going to hurt you.

However, playing the devil's advocate, the denigration of the models could be part of the "kick" of the website, along the lines of Bang Bus which as we all know is successful.

I have a thing about "photographers" who star themselves in their own videos if they don't "belong" in them. If you're a good looking guy, and you can perform as necessary, then by all means star yourself - saves on production costs and the fringe benefits! However, if you're a disgusting idiot who has no business being naked in front of a camera, don't do it. No one wants to see it. It's thinly veiled prostitution (as someone said previously).

Of course, I have a thing about prostitution too. I would feel like such a piece of shit having to PAY a girl to have sex with me. I never got that.. (shrug)

If you don't believe this kind of thing has an effect, checking current threads about The Bang Bus will show you that a lot of our junior webmasters weren't really "in" on the Bang Bus joke and thought it was for real.

I'm not sure I find it "disturbing" - it's not my cup of tea, and I'm definitely not capable of shooting content like that because that's not the way that I am; in fact, I have some great content of models basically trying to molest me during shoots that is completely unstaged - it makes me look like a dork actually [but hey, that's just me - I'd rather take up my business after the shoot like a professional].

Anyone who thought it was "real" in any sense of the word is a future Darwin award candidate, but again, it was "real enough" to make some (many?) people think that, and that's a good thing (for Bang Bus).

I'm not sure what you're upset about - I think it's that amateur photographers are getting into the mix and taking advantage of the models (or treating them like whores) because they have never been to a shoot to see how professionals act. I am in wholehearted agreement with you on this but they're only fucking themselves over because they will: a) run out of local models to shoot, driving up their costs, b) get into legal trouble, or c) some other catastrophic event.
