worst week in this business
 

im a 5 yo webmaster and it seems this will be the worst week i ever had. Usually i make around 1500 per week in all my sites and i dont know why since sunday i have only $120, same traffic no changes , i really dont know what is happening maybe its just badluck and tomorrow the things change i hope.And september is the end of the hollydays , start of the classes , so creditcards are full , maybe its that...

Best Week Ever!

Thank God I make sales on my own site because I haven't had a SPONSOR sale in three fucking days! Not even a ten cent free AFF signup. And I was on fire the first two weeks of this month. As soon as the 16th came, shit dried up.

I don't even like opening up unified stats anymore because I'm sick of looking at zero's.

honestly i don't know how ppl make much more than that these days who are simple affiliates. traffic is hard as hell to get these days. my main problem is i got too used to working 45 minute days, now that just doesn't cut it.

true. anyone who drives a vehicle is getting hit with record fillup costs right now.

this is a world-wide issue, but really effects the demographics of credit card holders. and this one single thing hits very close to home in the psychology of people. so they stop all discretionary spending because people are a little bit tense about their financial future.

The reasons are known to anyone who operates or works in an ad agency. There is nothing worse for sales (whether on the net/TV/print) than bad news. We now have 24/7 TV coverage of hurricanes.

The acid test of that is in "off-the-page" sales in print media - the response from this kind of advertising needs to happen within a day or so of publication, else it just does not happen.

Years back I managed to achieve one of these "successes" in lack of response where ya dump $30K on print ads in newspapers for the ads to appear over a weekend. So happens one weekend the timing was bad and there were declarations of war as headlines in print media. The response from all ads could be counted on one hand - bye bye $30K! :-)

The only bad luck ya got is bad news over hurricanes appearing cam4teen - the response/conversions will get back to sanity when the shit dies down! :thumbsup

We have noticed a general decrease, last couple months
have been alot slower then normal.

What is funny to me is that I know certain people are doing a lot worse than they are saying they are, but no one has the balls to or the guts to say they are not doing well this month.

Certain sponsors are saying they actually increased revenues from Sept 1 - Sept 5 and I know they are so full of shit.

I guess I will get on the positive bandwagon...

TV and newspapers have folks sitting waiting to book ads and they can't keep up with the massive numbers of advertisers that want space/timeslots. Kinda like sponsors! :winkwink:

In real life they can't give the shit away for less than the half normal rate at the present time, so might as well concentrate on "news value" in the hope of upping the viewing/readership figures.

that's what's crazy about this business. there's no telling when or where or why. lol

from the hurricanes, to oil. The hurricanes have shut down Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, etc. Then take the relatives of all those affected. Then look at increasing oil and gas prices, etc. Its just a timing thing right now with everything coinciding, and I will say this: all these factors don't equate to more porn sales...

porn isn't the only thing affected, the whole stock market is down lately... Dow Jones is down 3% YTD.
