Do you wash your shoes in the washing machine?

I usually buy a new pair but i was just thinking about it today

amandaspost 09-22-2005 05:21 PM

Last time i tried it, they got ruined

StickyGreen 09-22-2005 05:22 PM

hell no. i clean my white kicks with laundry detergent mixed with hot water and a toothbrush...

beemk 09-22-2005 05:25 PM

yeah i do, makes them really clean. you cant dry them though you have to just set them somewhere for a couple days for them to dry. i do like 3 pair at a time without any clothes

=^..^= 09-22-2005 05:32 PM

i use an old toothbrush and clean em with toothpaste it works wonders

Doc911 09-22-2005 05:35 PM

15 dollar walmart specials. when they get dirty I toss them and buy another pair

Violetta 09-22-2005 05:37 PM

I did it a couple of weeks ago with a white pair, and they got really nice. All white and clean!

Adult-biz 09-22-2005 05:45 PM

They can shrink a little if you put them on a hot wash (seriously) so if you don`t mind dropping a shoe size...lol.

tristan_D 09-23-2005 12:50 AM

nope. I just hand wash it to ensure it would be really cleaned after.

Miss Vlasta 09-23-2005 12:56 AM

Yes, regularly about twice a year.

Anthony 09-23-2005 06:32 AM

I would imagine my Guccis would get ruined if I did.

Ace-wtf 09-23-2005 06:55 AM

lol no kidding?

Quagmire 09-23-2005 07:17 AM

I just give them a quick wipe and move on with life. If they stink or are too dirty I fire them into the trash and get a new pair. Decent brands aren't that expensive anymore.

I figure if I can drop a few hundred on booze each year there is no reason why I can't spend a few bucks on shoes.

adamneve 09-23-2005 07:19 AM

i have one pair of sneakers that i can't let go(no more in the stores) and sometimes it just get's tossed in

tranza 09-23-2005 07:30 AM

12clicks 09-23-2005 08:06 AM

this question says so much more than it asks.

ssp 09-23-2005 08:18 AM

I throw the pair of runners in the washer every now and then. Cleaning them with a toothbrush? Come on, I have better things to do, lol.

Vitasoy 09-23-2005 09:12 AM

Never crossed my mind, and I wouldn't try

PlugRush Sascha 09-23-2005 09:14 AM

No. If they get too dirty to wear, I buy new shoes.

LittleSassy 09-23-2005 09:45 AM

no...havent tried yet.usually clean it with old toothbrush and detergent

RuthB 09-23-2005 09:47 AM

we did that once, and the machine was making such a racket we figured maybe we shouldn't do it again! :1orglaugh

loverboy 09-23-2005 10:20 AM

[QUOTEhahahaha^..^=]i use an old toothbrush and clean em with toothpaste it works wonders[/QUOTE]

this method works for me. but if the shoe is more than a year old, i just throw them away or give as a donation for the needy

:smokin

myjah 09-23-2005 10:31 AM

I have washed sneakers in the washing machine before and usually they do fine. Look pretty close to new.

gecko 09-23-2005 10:38 AM

They would be ruined

LiveDose 09-23-2005 10:39 AM

Never even thought about doing that....lol
