STD Screening Not Enough for Adult Industry!

There is a serious occupational risk of sexually transmitted diseases in the adult industry and medical screening alone is not enough, according to a new report released by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. Full Story

Yea yea yea.

How many videos are made and how many performers fuck each month?

LOTS OF THEM.

And if it was all that dangerous we would all be dead by now. But we aren't, so it's just a bunch of hype.

MetroPornTour, don't forget that the risk to be infected by HIV via geterosexual (ora/vaginal) contact is about 1:1000. That's why thare are no so many cases related with a HIV infection. But if you do anal, the risk is much higher because it's about 1:3!!!

So just think about it...

Chlamydia and Gonorrhea go around regularly, but they are both easily treated with antibiotics, it usually clears up within a few days.

The only real answer is some sort of quick test that performs can take when they arrive to the set. But there isn't anything like that currently available.

Performers are required to test every 30 days, however, once they start fucking multiple partners day after day, the test is essentially no good.

those are scary stats!! people need to wrap it up more!

It's just an official medical statistics. You can find it on any AIDS-related site.

I worked in pornvalley for 4 years. Plus I've worked in Montreal and Europe. And I think I used a condom ONCE for VCA with my husband. (They were condom manditory at the time.)

And I can count how many scenes on 1 hand that I've done that didn't include anal.

But nobody, save for my husband, blows a load up my butt or vagina.

There is alot of hype about STDs and everyone wants to think they are the end of the world. The truth is most are bacterial based. (IE: Simple antibiotics) And HIV is not that easy to contract with normal male-female sex. (No anal gangbangs or 4 black monster dicks in my ass for me)

The big things I worry about are the Hep. viruses.

I've been vaccinated as well as I can be. (Not all the Hep family can be vaccinated against.) And I only work with clean people and I make certain I'm clean. (No ass to mouth - ass to pussy - ass to other girl's mouth - etc)

Also I don't kiss anyone because I don't want the flu or any other sickness spread by poor dental hygene.

Porn chicks that have been in the industry for a length of time are clean freaks. If you were to visit Terri Weigel's home you would find it cleaner then a hospital operating room.

You would be amazed how much a bar of soap can do to keep a person healthy.

Let's see a link.

What about herpes?

That's not talked about much in porn valley.

Simple,

Don't believe the person when they say it is only "razor burn."

ChefJeff 09-22-2005 08:31 AM

It's not that simple, you can still get herpes even when the person doesn't show any symptoms.

Like betting the long shot at the race track.
Sure it's got a chance. But the odds aren't in it's favour.

ChefJeff 09-22-2005 10:53 AM

I will say this, that at least performers test every 30 days. You can't say that about the general population.

Telling you another time: most adults are ALREADY infected by Herpes. I doub't you will find a lot of performers who isn't. Also again: HERPES IS NOT LETHAL, but HIV IS!

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-22-2005 11:42 AM

I think the risk of models should not played down.

It is fucking dangerous, and every day I see guys running around treating talent like shit. When I see talent I give them respect I know and understand the risks they take.

However our industry is lucky to have a low ratio of serious incidences, but none the less it should not be played down.
