My poor puppy!
 

My Missy dog was barking at the dog next door this afternoon, when the big black dog squished its head UNDER the fence and bit her right on the nose! He tore her up pretty good. We went to the vet and got shots and antibiotics to the tune of $105.02. We're lucky that it's just superficial damage, no major harm done. But my poor baby!

She doesn't seem too bad..looks like minor cuts,glad it wasn't serious

The neighbour did offer to pay for the vet bill, so that was cool of her.

Missy was very very sore until her vet appointment, but the shot of anti-inflammatory and painkiller seems to have helped. She's passed out at my feet right now.

Poor puppy, I'm happy to hear that she wasn't hurt any worse. My puppy was spayed today so it sounds like they are healing together.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. We are very protective of our Shih Tzu. You have to protect these little yappers from themselves!

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts and words! I just got back from dinner and her nose is already looking better. The bleeding stopped and the painkillers seem to be totally working. The vet said I would have to get a CONE HEAD for her if she starts scratching at the healing bits, but so far so good. I think Missy heard her and understood. :)

Well I'm glad thats all that happened should have seen my moms Pug after my lab got a hold of it. Popped its eye right out of socket, it was hanging by the vereves. Vet popped it in place and such,over a thousand dollars in medical bills. its a trooper though, but it is blind in one eye.

As for pitbulls I still have a scar on my hand from Thor!

I hope to be safe now...

$105 is cheap for the vet. I can never get out of the vet's office for less than $100.

I hate those stupid little dogs that bark at dogs that are much bigger and stronger then they are. ur dog just learned a lesson, hope she feels better soon.

Yikes! The vets here are $40 for a basic visit, then shots and whatnots are extra.

She is doing MUCH better this morning. She's on daily painkillers for a week, so I just gave her one with breakfast and she's already passed out on the couch. heheh The nose is still raw, but is returning to a normal brown instead of angry red.

And the great news is I heard the neighbour fixing the fence at 7am today! Lots of hammering and whatnot. So that's a relief!
