I am keeping all mails and reporting to all sponsors . after a month of that I'll be complaining elsewhere cause we all know programs don't care if the spammers making them money .

I'm getting about 1 spam per minute lately and its driving me fuckin nuts .

I sent a nice letter to nichepay informing them of an affiliate spamming me from a geocities account , I'm sure his account is closed now :) ( let's hope so anyway )

The addresses used are harvested off this board , they are not to my usual addresses .

this has become an epidemic. i only use my airek at rage cash email here at gfy and i am getting literally 50 spams a day now.

some sponsors that advertise here too. i got no problem with people owning up on my yahoo addresses because thats what they are for, but i hate gettting that shit to my work emails.

heads are gonna roll if the sponsors that this particular mailer works for doesn't get me off his list.

Sponsors are playing with fire if they continue allowing spam, few more FTC fines similar to those not so long ago and this industry be as clean as shaved pussy. That will be a good thing with a shitty aftertaste.

I have one email address which i use only in correspondence with sponsors, after signing up to lots of sponsors for my upcoming project i started getting tons of spam on that addy. either they're selling webmaster emails, mailout themselves or have shady employees. I'm not going to point fingers in this thread, you know who you're and if you don't stop sending inappropriate shit to wrong mailboxes you gonna get yours. :321GFY

you would be surprised if you ever had a chance to see the amount of spam we get from Adult programs to our support addresses. pills, incest, beast, ect....... if this thread is live for a while longer I'll post some examples. ( not links)

I know exactly what you mean, I use a different email for each sponsor, and you can quickly see which ones either sell your email or have their database comprimised. It's downright nasty how much spam I get to these email addresses... I bet someone is making a lot of bling from it. These spammers send email at the speed of light. They must be making tons of platinum, gold & silver.

I just want to comment on the words in bold above. I can assure you that no sponsor would sell a list of webmaster emails to someone who promotes adult websites. Compromised database? perhaps, but there is no value to either party (the sponsor selling a list or the spammer buying a list) in that transaction.

i'm getting a bunch of email to my email account that has never been listed here at GFY. I have no idea how they got the address but it started a few weeks ago. It's really stupid because it is obviously a webmaster's email address and why in the hell would a webmaster listen to emails?

Glad to see it's not just happening to me. Last week it was Perfect Gonzo sites, I emailed but no response, but no more emails either.

Well whether it gets bundled in with customer email lists, sold as a webmaster email and eventually resold as a surfer email, sold by a rogue employee without the company's knowledge, or telepathically received by martians who love transmitting me their intergalactic spam, the fact remains that certain companies (sometimes repeatedly) have a problem with their webmaster email addresses getting out.

Now I've been told to never attribute to malice what can be chalked up as mere stupidity, but either way, sold or comprimised - it ain't good.

Spam didn't used to bother me, heck I even said "just delete it and forget it" a few times... until I started getting over 80,000 emails a day. I couldn't find any spam filter able to deal with that signal to noise ratio. Eventually I ended up removing hundreds of my domains from my mailserver just so I could whittle it down to a manageable 5,000 emails a day.

Do you know what it's like to dread going on vacation, because you know you'll come back to 50,000 emails to sort through? Now I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm pissed off, but I'm not wildly throwing around accusations. Some of my webmaster email addresses that I hinted at in my last post get over 200 spams a day, I've even changed the email address, and had the new one start getting spam within a week. It's gotten to the point where I started droping sponsors simply because I can't be bothered to hunt for a legitimate email from their program amidst all the spam.

ALL sponsors and credit card processors better have a way 2 accept a spam reports. better do something with the spam reports also.

I say this for your own good. it's your money, they will come and get you one day. You accept a sign-up from spam, you are playing with fire or have one hell of a lot of money.

Brad, like I said on ICQ, we haven't accepted mailers in months. If you think we're letting people do it on the sly, you're highly mistaken. Our mailers are 100% double opt in from our J4Free, EZ Pass and G3X programs, are not only not hardcore, but we don't even send out anything nude at all.

I haven't seen anyone complaining about getting an unsolicited email from WEG or affiliates of WEG. Not sure why we're being brought into this discussion.

Phoenix we haven't received any spam from wegcash so far. If weg spammed ppl before hopefully they stopped and if not then ppl will let them know and they will do something about it. Theres no reason at all to be getting 100's of spams a day and sponsors need to care about this type of behavior because it makes the industry look bad. It's no wonder why they want to shut down internet porn :2 cents:

We have a double-opt in list. We do not harvest email addresses on adult boards. This isn't tough to understand.

I gone vigilanti as of late on spammers and the host's that support them.
A few hosts have been crushed in the process for a few hours and in one case recently 7 hours.
Security on Spammer's host servers is usually pretty weak.
A Majority of spam is comming from eurotrash.

It just feels good to find exploits knowing the fuckrs laughed when they hit the SEND button.

I laugh inserting shit on the server.

I know no one else really gives a fuck so I decided to do things myself when I got a few minutes and I feel like being evil.

If I was getting spammed after Opting in somewhere I wouldn't be upset , but some asshole is spamming me ten fold this week and there is no way the guy can show me an ip stamp and time for my optin in .

I design for WEG , and haven't a clue what goes on in the mail department ,
BUT I'll tell you this , of all the hundreds of spams I have recieved NOT ONE has been promoting a WEG site, so that goes to say something .
And if one did come from WEG I would've posted it here just the same .

I'm not attacking the program , I'm trying to make them aware of what their affiliates can cost them . Doing it here just forces them to do something about it .

The other sponsors I have talked to about this keep saying stuff like " oh I'll have him remove you from his list " Meaning they know full well the affiliate is cold spamming and they don't give a shit .

His account has been terminated. If you are getting SPAM please let one of us know so we can have it taken care of. This guy was a new affiliate and everything seemed fine when he joined, he brought no red flags. Thanks for pointing it out, but also please contact one of us if it happens again from someone else.

We approve all accounts when they join our program. The reason he raised no red flags is that his address is in the USA, and the link he put for his site went to a TGP. All seemed fine there.
