Oprah has a University degree and she's worth over 1.1 Billion

According to the 2004 Forbes list, Oprah's worth is estimated at
$1.1 Billion

On average people with University degrees earn MUCH more during their lives than people that have no degrees !!!!!!! Go dig up some stats if you don't believe me.

Kinda getting sick of idiots trying to convince everybody else that you're better off with your high school education, after all it's not my fault that you didn't go to University, I know I did, and I paid for it, every single cent.

oh and here's a pic of Oprah:

How much is Bill Gates worth?

tgpshack 09-21-2005 01:13 PM

The thing is giving an image that oh no college degree multi millionaires? gives a bad image to teens deciding on colleges to go to. It gives them the idea oh I dont need to go to college and I can become a millionaire. What happens when they dont suceed without a college degree and their bums living under a bridge.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-21-2005 01:16 PM

There ar4 alot of bums with college degree's living under a bridge.THey are next to all the NETWORK and IT guys that lost jobs during the .COM era LOL!

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-21-2005 01:17 PM

A majority of COllege grads needless to say just choose to work a 9 to 5 and thats all they are and ever will be.

I would say the "Achiever" basis is more based on upbringing than anything else. Education has nothing to do with it really.

Look at Gearge BUsh for example. He has a degree or two, and is complete dipshit and utter failure in everyway next to being the worce case scenerio for the Bush clan. His families money has made em what he is.

An Imbecile.

Ya got money you are more likely to succeed than have no money and succeed.

I know in Adult there are a number of people that have found wealth and lived the "Rags to riches" life but by sheer volume statistically it RARELY happens.

The rich will get richer while the poor get fucked.

If you are born poor, odd's are you will live poor as well.
Thats just how it is.

Education makes no difference however if you are from a wealthy family odd's are you will find wealth during your life as a rich family will often assure that it happens and foot the college bill a poor family can NOT achieve.

My sister finished 4 years of University and 4 years of Vet school $50,000 in debt. I've made quite a bit more money than her in the mean time, and continue to now. In fact, I doubt she'll ever be able to match me in a year's salary, never mind catch up. Of course that's not the normal, you're right about that.

Most of the people have 9 to 5 jobs, college degree or not.

Holly 09-21-2005 01:57 PM

You definitely don't have to have a college degree to make big bucks. Sometimes earning one (or more) is about more than dollar signs.

Ace-wtf 09-21-2005 01:58 PM

it is an experience
the question is where you take what you gain

Chaldoray 09-21-2005 02:22 PM

Antonio, i disagree with everything you say. College teaches you to work for somebody and how to make your boss rich; if you have a basic knowledge of accounting and investing. You will be wealthy, it's a matter of "Never Quit!"

That's all i have to say now.

pornguy 09-21-2005 02:27 PM

The sad thing is, that people like Orca get hornorary degrees, and then run around acting like they earned them.

Not sure about her in that case, but it happens a lot.

Please make sure WiredGuy reads this. I've heard he's made his boss lots of money in the last few years. I think he even sent him to Cuba a week or two ago. Someone should slap some sense into that boy.

je_rome 09-21-2005 05:21 PM

the way i see it, a degree is a very big help, but no way its an assurance.

tony286 09-21-2005 05:23 PM

Sam Walton didnt have a degree, either did the oracle guy.

Horse shit. Of course on average they are better off but only because when they have nothing else to do they can get a higher paying yet still shitty job. I will teach my kids how to be successful with or without college.

LiveDose 09-21-2005 05:30 PM

It all depends on the person. If you're happy with your college degree good for you.

Young 09-21-2005 05:30 PM

I have a college degree and in the two years since I have got it...I have used it exactly 0 times. Its nice to have and look at...but thats about it.

You could always start a thread trying to prove you are superior to those that don't.
