Do any affiliate programs encrypt our passwords?

I'm relativly new to the adult game, but what i've noticed so far is that affiliate programs seldon encrypt affiliate passwords. For instance, today I received an email from a large program that contained my login & password in PLAIN TEXT.

Why isn't there more emphasis on security in the industry? What programs should do is store an md5 checksum of our passwords, and just compare the checksums upon login.

Or am I totally wrong, and this was just a coincidence?

Well, if they sent it out when you signed up.. they could still have the password stored as an MD5 or SHA etc...

If it's stored as a hash (MD5 for example) then there's no way you can retreive it if you forget your password. So storing them in plain text does have advantages, of course a secure setup is a must.

I tend to disagree. Storing any password in plaintext can be a big security gap. Best to just reset the password if lost/forgotten.
