You live in Central Texas? 200 miles in? I think you're safe. That seems like they are being a little too cautious.

Niqqer 09-20-2005 09:47 PM

I thought you said "I can't catch a black man". :1orglaugh

jukeboxfrank 09-20-2005 09:47 PM

I would stay put but remember you may not have power or gas for a few days stock up.

LiveDose 09-20-2005 09:48 PM

Jesus man, good luck whatever you choose... Be safe.

Wow...I hope you're not running any nursing homes.

Better safe than sorry.

iwantchixx 09-20-2005 09:55 PM

holy fuck that looks big. Head for safer ground man. Don't chance it toughing it out when you have a little princess to worry about.

Cory W 09-20-2005 09:55 PM

200 miles?

I hate to be in the minority but man, that seems fine to me. I can't believe a sherrif came knocking 200 miles inland on a storm 72 hours out. How far are you supposed to go inland? Oklahoma?

Let me know if you need a place to stay in California haha

You are right about better safe than sorry, but damn, what should coastal residents do? Go 500 miles inland?

Better safe than sorry though, no doubt.

My ex was from Galveston and I met several of her friends that moved 100 miles away from home just to get to higher ground.

I think 200 miles should be good to go. You might get rain and wind, but I have never heard of a hurricane that far inland. . . . . now, a tornado is another thing.

that is my thinking
these type of storms brew tornados like crazy

high winds and a good rain thru this area will kill us

I am on your team. Unless he is in a flood zone, 200 miles is good to go.

Another thing, I can almost guarantee it does not follow course. Watch that high-pressure system, it will move.

All the same, stay safe Chris and do as they tell you.

get the fuck out yo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! be safe

undermyspell 09-20-2005 10:15 PM

Do what you have to Chris.. My mom is just outside Galveston. They are evacuating Galveston tomorrow and her town that's about ten miles inland Thursday morning about 2 a.m. I think she's coming up to my house since there won't be a hotel room to be found anywhere in Texas. An 8 hour drive won't be too bad for her...

inthestars 09-20-2005 10:16 PM

Get out of there. Drive to Oklahoma or something. Why take a chance? Don't you have a young baby?

PixeLs 09-20-2005 10:25 PM

200 miles away from the gulf coast? I think you'll be safer if you don't leave.

Stacey_JoinRightNow 09-20-2005 10:28 PM

Good luck and just be prepared to everything!

reed_4 09-20-2005 11:07 PM

You take care man.
