Lightning Storm in Los Angeles...

Last night all day there've been lightning and thunder storms here in Los Angeles.

Lots of stuff got fucked up like flooding and trees and shit. Some people handled it well, others are lost causes.

Power is out in some areas too.

If a big ass disaster hit California I don't know if people here would be able to survive. A huge sea storm or black out and I think there'd be chaos.

Earthquakes I ain't worried about, it's the storms or what if a big ass hurricane hit.

If some shit like that hit LA it would fuck up the economies of the world.

I hope nothing like that happens

I drove all the way home to SD last night in it with my GF at 11:30-
It was the nuttiest storm I have ever witnessed-
Shit was being hit by lightning on all sides of us as we drove-
Powerful thundercracks and brilliant lightning though-
I then came home as the rain started to pound the pavement- my poor mustang was slippin and slidin all the way down the 405

Yo! That's just what many people said about this storm! We have people stuck all over the place. I was home all night and day so I just heard the shit and was feeling no longer homesick cause I ain't heard thunder in over a year. Reminds me of NY and New England.

The news had picks of lots of lighting strikes, lotsa damage and just now they showed how a power tower got slammed by lightning and has fucked up traffic majorly.

I loved it.

Rain in California is hilarious. I've never seen so many retards. These people can't handle rain, imagine what would happen on ice. Yes Californians, in many parts of our very own country, driving on ice is not uncommon.

I told my girl who is from the Tahoe area about the number of car accident that were bound to happen an how dangerous it was to b driving with all of these retads-
and then two seconds later, a 5 car crash right in front of me - caused by someone slowing down to 20 miles an hour because of the mist.
So stupid-

It was a storm that reminded me of storms in Cleveland I saw growing up-

I loved seeing teh lightning- but it was real scary last night.

I took in every metal object we had outside, and taped up the windows. Then I hide in the hall closet with a gallon of fruit punch and some ritz crackers. I was prepared.

I think you will notice that the people that are freaking out are transplants. Us natives have it handled . . . except for maybe Gabe (but I am not sure where he is from).

I remember back in '98 I was driving back from Disney studios after a meeting and it started to rain. I had a jeep and it was just about dusk. You can't see the street signs as they're blue and white. People were sliding all over. I had a caravan of people behind me as I made my way back to Hollywood. I literally had to show these people how to drive in the rain! People cheered me on and the cops saluted me.

I have to say that when the roads out here get wet they do indeed get slippery but Californians think they can drive like it's sunny out. All that pollution and oil rises up from the asphalt and that is dangerous.

I'm used to driving in storms, snow, ice. Never ever had one accident in 30 years of driving.

I drive safe. There's no place on Earth I have to be so quickly as to handle a 4,000 pound metal and glass and flammable fuel device like a madman.

The party don't start til I get there anyway.

they may as well close the city down, people cant drive, walk or do anything in the rain. every job ive worked at,when it rains, its normal to come in late to work,if ya dont people think you teleported to work or something.. :1orglaugh

Peaches 09-20-2005 01:39 PM
