Warchild.. monitor question..
I've been looking at the 24" Dell LCD and was just about to buy it today when i realised I would be better off with dual 19"s.. given you've actually got a 24" what are your thoughts? It's not so much the price (even though it would be AU$1100 cheaper just to get another 19") but in terms of workflow... I think i'd get a 24" and just be pissed it's not big enough again wheras another 19" is a straight doubling of screen real estate. Or do you dual with the 24' and 20".. seems a bit over kill to me to get a 24" to dual with my 19".. but i bet i wouldn't think that after using it for a few days..

I use the 24 on my desk and a 20 on the server that sits behind my desk. I really like this setup but that's just me. A sponsor bought me my 24" so I didn't really consider a smaller one. There's nothing wrong with running dual 19's it's all personal preference.

Oh, you're not probably going to get double the resolution of my 24" widescreen with two square 19's. I run at 1920X1200 resolution with no eye strain ata ll.

missed these replies somehow... yeah, didn't actually look into the res i'd be running on a 24"... 2 x 1280x1024 still beats it.. but only 2.6 to 2.3 million px. shit.. decisions decisions. Already ordered another 19" with a few new systems... but it's always good to have a spare.. or one of the guys can use it dual while i order a 24... never actually dual screened before.. wonder how well having a 19" at 1280x1024 and a 24" at 1920x1200 works... maybe the mouse just slows down a bit moving onto the 24".. better investigate. |
Get the duals, it will be a lot more productive.
