Hurricane Rita on its way
 

Hurricane Rita's Path right over the heart of the oil industry in the Gulf of
Mexico......another dissaster bound to happen? Discuss :(

Oh man, let's hope not. Apparently, when it comes to hurricane history, the 90s were a minor reprieve in an otherwise long and violent history of storms hitting the Southeast US.

Rita is now in front of the Bahamas but is set to move to into the gulf of Mexico
moving west of New Orleans where the heart of the US oil industry is located.
It's not looking very good.....let's hope severe damage will be spared

Oh... hope it will not happen... enough with the Katrina event, I mean were recovering now, I couldnt take anymore if that day will come...

katrina did just that, i dont see how the conditions wouldnt be ripe for it to happen again this time...

Whetjer it isn't sure to hit the most likely target. I hope the local and central government is ready enough for this.

i just hope the damage is not as big as what happend to NO...

Is this a Cat 1 storm?

right now it is a tropical storm but once it gets into the gulf nobody knows how big it could blow up as the water is super warm right now.

let's hope that this Rita wouldn't be like katrina.

i worry about everyone in that area...If you live down there, don't be stupid, leave when/if you're asked to evacuate.
