going to Hong Kong, who's been there/is there?
Going for 5 days November 16-21.. What's the deal? what to see/where to stay? Is there a lot of food choices? not a big chinese food fan personally.
Anyone want to give me a tour ;)? |
McD's or Chinese Food are your choices. :)
|
serious, they don't have italian or mexican? or any whole foods?
|
my Ipod nano is from around there, let me ask

You are going to Hong Kong, one of the most thriving metropolises on the planet.
If you've got money to spend, you'll get some of the best western food you could dream of.. if that's your preference, stay in the TST area. Things to see.. take the Peak Tram (an experience in itself) up to the top at night, to get the world famous panorama.. If you're into clubbing, Wan Chai is where you want to be, there are clubs there where girls jsut love western guys. Take a trip to Lamma island, take a trip to Lan tau island... You'll have to hit up Sham Shui Po for sure - the tech area.. Mong Kok for the newer tech area (but nothing on SSP) Hit up Prince Edward for the bird markets, and make sure you hit the fish markets just nearby for some pretty cool sights.. Makr sure you take the star ferry at least once.. But seriously - hongkong is where you will get some of THE best chinese food in the world. The 'chinese food' I ate in the US was abysmal - it's not even real chinese. Hit up the BBQ pork and you'll be right :D |
just noticed you were in vancouver, you've got a great chinatown there, so I guess if you've eaten there you're sure you dont like chinese food.
Anyhow - you can def. eat western in HK. |
awesome :)
you're not in brisbane are you? I'll be hitting that next.. |
I'm in Brisbane :)
Hit me up on ICQ for some more HK pointers. Don't know what you like, but I really love that place, so just lmk |
you will have an awesome time in Hong Kong, its a very easy introduction to Asia - you will not find any communication problems as english is widely regarded as the first language in the city precinct... as for food you'll get whatever you want, check out - http://www.discoverhongkong.com/eng/...arch/index.jsp to get some ideas... but be sure to at least try some local food... a good "touristy" night out would be to head out on a floating resatraunt, great views of the city and you'll get an awesome seafood meal. The new Disney Land has also just opened there, so probably worth checking out.

damn thanks guys :) tons to look into now..
|
My girlfriend is in Hongkong right now and she told me Disneyland HK is very awesome place to visit.
|
its one of the few places where a very select few can ball hard.
six figure cars are everywhere in hk without anyone caring. ask about which streets other than women street has the deep down goods. if ur going high end, go to causeway bay, every stinkin brand possible is there. |
HK has everything you can imagine. very safe, very crowded. take lots of $.
|
never been would love to go and i hope you have a great time
