going to a bbq - need hot wing recipe
what is a good hot wing recipe?
im bringin em to the bbq I know for best taste deep fry the wings and then sauce em what oil should I use ? what is a sauce recipe? |
Unless you HAVE to bring them already prepared, I'd prefer to BBQ them over deep-frying. Careful with deep-frying - too long and they'll dry out fast.
When deep frying, I usually use sunflower oil. For a simple sauce, melt some butter and add Frank's hot sauce (or your favourite red sauce) & a few drops of Worcestershire sauce. Substitute whatever BBQ sauce you prefer, and add red sauce to taste if you don't want them too hot. Lots of recipes at www.foodtv.com if you want to get fancy. Melt butter, add hot sauce/BBQ sauce, mix. Deep fry wings 5 - 7 minutes. Drain, add to bowl with sauce, mix. Simple. I grabbed this off my fridge: Blue Cheese Dip 3/4 cup mayo (not Miracle whip) 1 glove garlic, minced 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley 1/2 cup sour cream 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon white vinegar 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese salt & pepper Mix this stuff and chill for a couple of hours. Best blue cheese dip ever. Add a teaspoon of capers to blue cheese dip for a nice compliment to BBQ steak. Edit : I had this bookmarked - http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/reci..._29722,00.html I just took some wings out of the freezer, thanks for the dinner suggestion :) |

deep fry wings? Never heard of that.
I would just throw a bunch of wings in a mylar bag with some ketchup, worcheshire, tabassco, pepper, and whatever else I had in the cupboard and fridge and let them bake for an hour or so. |
