EviLGuY 09-18-2005 05:34 AM

Back then PCs were actually profitable to sell. :winkwink:

My first PC set me back about 4 grand if memory serves.. and it wasnt even top of the line.

Sam Granger 09-18-2005 05:45 AM

Oh man, flash back time! I had one too. 4k, expandable to 64k. Tape backup drive and all the bells and whistles. The best thing was the pinball game. Definately old school. :thumbsup

JDog 09-18-2005 06:17 AM

Yep, that's badass, actually weird I just found that pic myself a week or so ago!

reed_4 09-18-2005 07:34 PM

It's nice to look back and see what computers look like. I am very thankful for those responsible of the computer development.

Doctor Dre 09-18-2005 07:36 PM

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh

This is ownnnnnnnage ;P

MattO 09-18-2005 07:47 PM

I owned a computer store in '89 and I would have told you back then that was a fucking ripoff. My custom systems weren't half of that price, same specs.

Redrob 09-18-2005 07:50 PM

My first personal was a Radio Shit Trash 80. Ran Visicalc and a mail labelling program. I had a chain of 5.25" floppy drives and no hard drive. It was great.

Niqqer 09-19-2005 01:46 AM

Monitor and mouse not included? Wow, what a deal.

It's hard to imagine looking back to today, 20 years from now, but when I think back not too long ago... I remember paying $2000 for a Pentium II 266Mhz machine.

iwantchixx 09-19-2005 01:48 AM

and to think, u can pick thsoe up at salvage stores for $20 now.

Vitasoy 09-19-2005 03:45 AM

Just shows you how technology has evolved. :)

Jace 09-19-2005 04:19 AM

Wiggles 09-19-2005 04:48 AM

i love when people put ads in the paper for a shit ass computer and people still flock to it, yet for same price they could go to a comp store and get a current model for same price.

Cassie 09-19-2005 04:50 AM

one of my first pc's was as a tandy bought from radio shack. followed by a toshiba 133.
