I'm having the same problem as you. Lost all my songs and dont know where to start downloading.

And i have no reason to hit the gym without it

I have like 50gb of music on one of my pc's. all kinds of stuff.

Since all of you are saving 1000's with downloading instead of buying: why not buy a 100 gig external usb disk and backup your library?

i got about 400 full cd's
about 60 gigs worth

jeez.. what compression are you using? I'm using 192k and im up to about 430 cd's and only at 17GB. I will add there are probably 30 singles and ep's out of that 430.. but still.. I determined 192k was about the bit rate where you can't hear the difference between cd's unless you're playing on great sound system.. and small enough to fit a bunch of them on an mp3 player..

compression above 192k is mostly crap. It amplifies certain tones too much like the bass, 'overcompression'. Juts cuz its bigger doesnt mean its better.
