Live and learn. I stopped speeding after my 24 over, 4 point ticket that was in the middle of no where.

I think speed limits should be enofroced 5+ over in normal populated areas, but i think they should be easier on poeple going 90 in a 70 that is in the middle of the country on a 10 lane interstate.

if it is clearly posted that the speed limit is 60 mph, then you adjust your speed accordingly. it's rather simple.

cops hate getting out in highway traffic etc.. pull over as far to the right as possible..the more room the cop has to stand the less nervous he will be..nervous cops write more tickets...

Always shut the car off.. at night always turn interior light on-BEFORE you stop.NEVER REACH for the glovebox or anything..

always keep hands on wheel in plain site... when asked for lic & reg. dont just reach.. look at him & tell him where they are & get his permission to go into the glovebox or pockets. wait til he says ok...

whenever asked do you know how fast your going, tell him the truth.
No will always get you a ticket..they like honesty....

these are proven & true factors to avoid getting tickets..they have a high stress job & everything is a potential situation..anything you can do to make them feel at ease & less on edge is to your benifit.. once you accomplish that, your not getting a ticket........

there's a mix of good and bad cops everywhere.

I totally agree with this statement. I've learned tha hard way to make nice, honest, and show the cops you're intelligent and just in a hurry, and they'll always let you go with a warning. I'm not lying when I say I've had near 20 tickets in my life. Now I don't get anything. Then again, I don't live in USA anymore

I got a ticket for running a red light last week. It was yellow from my perspective. I'm just wishing a case of the shits on court day for the cop, no death. :-)

13 years of driving in England and I was only ever stopped once for speeding. Then I moved to California and I was stopped 4 times in the first year, each time in a different hire car. Every time I showed them my British licence, they didn't know what to do with it so they let me off with a warning. Gotta love the CHP :thumbsup

Roads go from 80 to 60 for a reason.
They also know many people will slow down, and if not enough do they begin to show a presence and give tickets. Then people pay attention.
It is your fault because you broke the law, simple as that.

By the way the cop still is only doing his job. He did not change the speed limit on those signs. That is ussually done by the city planning agency or whatnot. Think the limit is stupid, take it up with them. People can get things changed if they are reasonable.

Ever since i got my CCW(carring a conceal weapon) and ive been pulled over I tellt he cop i have my ccw and im not carrying they always give me a warning, it could just be a coincidence but its been that way and i like it, if you gonna speed be ready to pay a fine plain and simple
