This feature is fairly new and, from what I see, not majorly marketed yet (or is it and I'm totally blind?...I don't know why I'm getting cheques for them, but I sure as hell am not complaining :)). I'm an iFriends chathost, so my Clickcash account is also my chathost account. For me, I don't have to set up an account with Pay2Play just as I didn't have to set up one with Clickcash (It's automatic). So, I don't know if Clickcash affiliates have to set up a new account with P2P or it's automatic too. I don't get that perspective... sorry. Maybe a non-chathost Clickcash affiliate here can try log in with his/her Clickcash username/password and see if it works?
Anyway, from what I understand of the FAQ ( http://www.pay2play.com/cgiP2P/P2Pfaq.exe), if you're not a chathost, you can even lock your own files and charge the prices to unlock it (The charging options are: play once, play for X number of days, play for X number of times, and/or own forever) if you don't wish to use the locked content provided by chathosts, but P2P will charge a 5% transaction fee (So, you'll get 95% of whatever you charge, I believe). Everytime someone wants to view the movie and buys the license to view/unlock it, you get 95% of what you charge. If you market locked files provided by chathosts, you tack on whatever price to what is already charged by the chathost (e.g. If I price my "own forever" clip at $15, and you sell it for $20, you'll get $4.75 i.e. the $5 you tacked on minus the 5% transaction fee) whenever someone buys the license/unlocks to watch it. That's what I understand and that's how I think it's supposed to work, but I only get the chathost perspective, so I don't know how affiliates' end look like.
This is using DRM technology (supposedly) and it's supposed to be open to "marketing affiliates", so I don't see why you can't use it. I just never tried locking files that I don't already have on iFriends basically because what I lock ends up in my iFriends fanclub anyway. Just try it out and see, I guess. I'd like to hear the perspective of a non-chathost affiliate too :winkwink:.
