Curling....HAHAHAHAHAHA
I swear I saw the funniest shit tonight watching the Olympics.
WTF is Curling? you guys in Canada serious about this? At first I thought it was some sort of spoof..joke type thing(seriously), then a member of my family was like "Can you believe this is a big sport in Canada?" I was huh? I have NEVER heard of ths sport...EVER. It is the kookiest thing I have seen and tonight was the first time for me, the dudes were chasing a round thing down the ice with brooms?? Can someone from Canada explain this to me?:helpme Found a picture of it: http://www.curling2000.com/bjohninism.gif |
It was actually fun to watch and learn about. Really now, consider ANY sport - what's the big deal with them? It's all just about setting a performance goal and reaching it.
You never got caught up in a game of Monopoly before? :winkwink: |
Whatever.. I'm from Canada.. and the one thing I've learned about curling is that NOBODY knows how to play it. Not even the players.. it's fake. We've been pulling the whole worlds legs for years now, and there's no sign of letting up.

NO NO!! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING... CURLING IS A MYTH!!!

Can anybody say billiards? Or bowling?

This year I sat down and watched and learned how the game is played and I find it fascinating. Like chess on ice. Also, that brooming action is rather exhausting and requires you not only to have mental precission but to be fit.
A fact they taught us while our women were winning the gold - Canada has 75% of all the world's curlers. Also, if you are wondering it was invented in Scotland as something to play on the lakes when they were frozen. You should check out the highland games..I am sure they are on ESPN12 or something. Curling is the most sober sport the Scots have invented. |
A few curling hooligans and then it's the big time baby!
