Hungry for...

I'm pretty hungry, is it time for lunch yet?

PixeLs 09-16-2005 05:25 AM

Fuck, I just had my dinner man!

candyflip 09-16-2005 05:29 AM

I ate one of these before crawling into bed last night.

I eat a few of them each week, but don't recommed them as a bedtime snack.

I'm off to the shitter and probably won't be eating again until later tonight.

It's affectionately called the "Garbage Plate" and it's a Rochester, NY classic.

It's just some mac salad and homefries covered with 2 cheeseburgers, some mustard and a meat based hot sauce.

It might look like shit, but it tastes like heaven...especially after a night of drinking :winkwink:

I've dumped them into tupperware and FedEx'd them overnight to friends and family around the country.

So it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I worked with a bunch of folks from Rochester. They swear by the garbage plates.

Every region of the country has some great food.

NJ- Texas Wieners. Deep fried. All of the good stuff on top.

NC- Pork BBQ

NYC-Pizza

San Diego- Gaslamp Popcorn

Chicago- Deep Dish "Pizza"

Philadelphia- Cheesesteaks

Florida- Cuban Food

Rutgers Grease Trucks- FatCats.

Anyone else have a city or area with a famous food?

Excellent!
Might be a bit past it's best by the time it has got to me in the UK though.

Next time I make a visit I'll seek one out.

Yeah, you are probably right, except fish and chip aren't anything to be proud of are they? Nope, I am going to introduce the garbage plate cat crap over here, as part of a healthy balanced diet of course.
