Which monitor do you use?
So after hearing about how great the LCDs are, I ditched my old Viewsonic CRT and ordered Dell's 2005FPW, a 20 inch widescreen.
The games and DVDs look great on it and all, but it's not quite practical for day-today programming and design. My eyes get so much more tired from it for some reason. I read many reviews, and no one seems to mention this - so it's probably my eyes or something. Did anyone else have a similar problem with LCDs? What did you end up doing? And people who use a CRT - which one do you have? I'm probably in a market for a new CRT monitor :1orglaugh |
I still have some AOC shit 19' - have no reason to switch to anything better.
I am close to be blind soon anyway |

I keep wanting to go LCD; but, my laptop is LCD and I'm not sure I love it for everyday use. I keep looking at them...and the Viewsonic and Dell and Samsung.... I guess I'm being cheap at the moment, since my dual monitors aren't even a year old yet.... |
I'm rocking the ViewSonic A75F, I love this old school beauty.

Depends on the season....i'm getting this pretty soon...
http://www.iit.edu/~parkjef/monitor.jpg (ok, i'm not) btw, currently a sony sdm-s73 17" tft. it's good for general work&graphic design, and i like the fact that it's got preset&1 customized brightness settings, which are accessible by a single button. it's good when lighting conditions change in the room...i just switched from a viewsonic tft. I prefer tft's over crts these days. The only downside is graphic design...these aren't exactly the perfect choice for that. but if you're like me and you stare at your monitor for 10+ hours/day, you better get a TFT. my old crt used to kill my eyes...no probs with the TFT. the only thing that sucks is if you set your res. to 1024*768 for web designing purposes....it's not as sharp as it is when set to 1280*1024 (native res.).. thinking of getting a 19". |
i use laptop

I use both. I have a CRT for my design work. And an LCD as my secondary monitor. Works good when you want to check out how a site will look on both displays
