How do you check your POP3 email when traveling abroad?
I'm going to be in Europe for a few weeks and I'd like to check my email at least a few times while I'm gone (part of my trip is getting away from this computer) and since I'm not bringing a laptop I'll probably be visiting internet cafes and using friends & relatives computers for checking email and stats. I can check some of my POP3 mail thru Yahoo but what else is there?
What do you use? Would a Blackberry be a wise investment? Is WIFI more common and more widely available in the EU than the US? I'll be visiting Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Amsterdam, etc.. I'm a little concerned about the security of my passwords and connections as I'll be checking epassporte and financial balances too. Ideas? :upsidedow |

Yet another reason I like gmail.

but can you check your pop mail within gmail?
|
I have a web based email client on my server

It's the only way to fly... it's also handy if you end up with an email message on your server that your pop3 client can't seem to delete... |
You can also search for a free POP3 gateway... like the Endymion Corporation used to sell their pop3 webmail..... there are still many around I guess
|
I would recommend having your host set up webmail for you as well. Here is another alternative http://mail2web.com/ to check out :)
edit: sorry didn't see that post before mine ;) |
