Just curious as to why you are selling? Is there legal issues for an American operating a site like this? Particularly the forums where there is discussions of growing, could this be aiding and abetting? Looks like the forum gets most of the traffic.

Also, without the content for sale the site has little value as far as advertising goes. The money is made from the forum and the banners and paid memberships. Domain alone isn't worth very much.

Depends on the buyer ricks ... but for many buyers, I certainly agree and thus the content is available to the buyer only at relatively nominal cost - willing to negotiate that point with a serious buyer... so far I only see one bid...

It's been an interesting experience to say the least - seems bizarre to me that I've sold numerous other domains with a fraction of the traffic and less revenue for more ... Appears it's a situation where in which the timing just wasn't right to sell the CANNABIS.COM package... With that said, I'm open to offers as always... and to clear up some uncertainty which may have dissuaded some buyers - YES, much of the content on the domain, including the main pages, message board, gallery, etc included (to be priced separately for legal purposes in any agreement of sale; content is owned by my other company) for buyer seeking to continue CANNABIS.COM as is to start with. Umm what money can you make off this type of website? 7500 visitors great thats nothing much. Unless you can convert them into cash then its not worth more than $20k in my book.

I've received several 6-figure offers directly for the CANNABIS.COM package...
In particular, three people / companies have expressed serious interest to buy now at or slightly above the $250,000 USD minimum bid price; most are using a 3 to 5 year time horizon based on current revenue data... However, many prospective buyers are overlooking some important points that make CANNABIS.COM truly worth much more: 1. CANNABIS.COM has minimal competition; relatively few large cannabis related sites exist. 2. CANNABIS.COM continues to become more popular; visitor traffic, links to, brand recognition. 3. There is much room for revenue growth; 5x + easily possible by a company / investor group with resources beyond what I have. 4. I'm just starting to get familiar with the domain business. This domain will be easily worth a million in a few years. If you are looking for a solid investment, domain real estate is the way to go.
As for Cannabis.com, with Canada's laws becoming more liberal, and with the world as a whole becoming more liberal. This domain is already worth 1 million in my books. Too bad I just purchased 2 condo's and I'm dead broke. Otherwise, I'd love to purchase it. People really overlook how good the returns are on domain real estate. |

I've received within the past few weeks, 5 separate bonafide offers directly (plus two others via Ebay when it was listed there) over $100K with 3 of the offers in the $250K - $300K range and just today received a bonafide offer of nearly $500K USD.
The offers are getting closer and closer to what I'd consider letting the CANNABIS.COM package go for... I'd like to get a million, but I'll consider letting it go for $875K USD to a buyer ready to deal immediately. Ron |
