i'm fine, burning about 25 gallons a day in gas. thankfully there are no more lines for gas, waiting 1 hour every couple days sucked. I have been BBQ'ing a lot, and now there is electricity within a few miles of me so I can go out to eat, get groceries and shit. It is really not that bad. I just keep it all in prospective, I am making out a lot better then a lot of other people.

Hopefully they can get the fiber restored to my office soon, would be nice to get back to work and back in the swing of things. I can't do shit from here except icq people.

but i like it here. Electricity will be back on in a couple days (i hope). I don't want to buy a house and move, too much trouble and before i would be finished moving everything would be back to normal here.

OMG its like you're living under a cave, or you're back to the medieval times.

2nd homes are for idiots. If you made a lot of money or had an ounce of business sense you wouldn't buy a second home and let it sit there making you $0 MONEY and infact costing you money for upkeep, taxes, insurance, and interest if you have a mortgage for that second home. I prefer to INVEST all of my money not piss it away on worthless shit like 100K cars and second homes. I even own a condo on the florida gulf coast, but I rent it out so it makes me money, and it is all booked up.

I own several other properties but they are all rented making me money, so I can't move into them.

Keep opening your mouth with comments like you made above and you keep showing how dumb you are. You think you would have learned by now to stop talking to me since i make you look so fucking stupid every time you do.

Go ahead and reply, put me in my place and tell me my mother is whore, lol. You show me big dog, I can't compete with that intellect and those come backs.

LOL if you buy a house for pure appreciation then you are a HUGE idiot. You appeared to be smarter as a dumb fool who blew money on a second home because you like to have toys and bling bling. Now you are telling me that buying a house for pure appreciation is a wise thing to do, lol. that just makes you look more stupid. If you buy a house and let it sit instead of putting renters in it, you are a fool.

I'll give you a little free education. You can buy "fixer uppers", do some renovations and flip them and you can let it appreciate while you work on it. You can also buy rental property, which will you make money from renters while it appreciates and then you can sell it later when your tenants move out or their lease comes up. If anyone out there buys a house for pure appreciation potential, and then just let the house sit there, they will be getting burned in the near future. They are fools. Appreciation is not guranteed. A lot of people will lose big doing this if the market levels off or even takes a drop. Fools like you I assume since you think this is a smart thing to do.

A little more free education for you. 2 ways you can buy that second property, you can pay cash or finance it. If you finance it you will be paying interest of about 6% plus taxes, insurance, upkeep. All of that will add up to about 10% expenses. So your house will need to appreciate 10% each year just for you to break even. Some people had houses appreciate a lot more then that over the last couple years, but since everything is soo high now and the market is starting to level off (and may drop) you are not likely to see an appreciation rate of 10%+ for a long time. It is like buying stocks when the price is real high, not smart and that is where the market it at right now. Infact there is a pretty decent chance that your property value might even go down in the next couple years. If you paid cash, you should still be making 10% off of your money, either way you are a retard, and I will still try to educate you.

FYI, I live about 60ft above sea level, not in a swamp moron.

keep trying....

If anyone is doubting how much money someone makes, people should be doubting you. You say some really stupid shit that should make everyone wonder if you make 1/10 of what you claim you make.

Thanks for your kind words.

I will be back up 100% in the next couple weeks. Getting extra equipment and crews ready to get in on the rebuilding $$ and trying to catch up on all of the internet stuff over the next couple weeks.

iBanker 09-14-2005 02:04 PM

I had a house that had to run on a generator once for over a month....gas was cheaper then though, thank god.

The only thing I will do differently next time is have a generator that runs off of propaine. That way if natural gas is cut off I am still good. Just will have a big propaine tank that can last me weeks, that or I may look into solar power as well. I don't mind the gas cost, hell I would pay $10 a gallon if i had to to keep the ac on and the frig cold. It's the lines that sucked but thankfully they are gone now.
