Elise is faster through the twisties stock. a 400 HP racing one should take the vette hands down.

That lotus is not stock - no way is it stock. Don't know about the corvette couldn't hear it.

The lotus is very impressive through the corners and under braking but lacking somewhat on the straight.

As much as I love track days, I hate all the American cars that show up. I've been to a few at a track near Seattle, and all the American cars there, even the ones that "handle great" (with leaf springs lolol!!) drag race on the straightaways, and drive granny fucking slow around the corners. What's worse, is they refuse to pull to the right to allow a damn near stock Honda Civic to pass them, even though they do nothing but hold said Honda Civic up until they get to a straightaway. Then, they get on the brakes like five miles before the corner (because they suck at slowing down), and then wam, Honda Civic is stuck behind them again.

WEAK.

Nice, but I'd rather have this engine in an Elise or Exige:

engine st00pid/CheeseFrog Honda B18C1
position Transverse, Mid Engine
aspiration Turbocharged
valvetrain 4 Valves per Cyl
displacement 1933 cc / 118 cu in
bore 84 mm / 3.31 in
stroke 87.2 mm / 3.43 in
power 700+ whp @ 9700 rpm
hp per litre 362 bhp per litre
redline 10,000 rpm

If anybody has an Elise in the US and wants to make it unfuckingbeatable by just about anything on the street, hit me up in ICQ.

You sure that is not overkill? Could that engine last for extended runs at high speeds? I'm sure it would be fast as fuck in a straight line, but how about its performance on the racetrack?

wedouglas: Good question. But with that much power at the wheels, who needs to turn? You just lock your elbows and plow straight through the corners ;)

But highspeed corners are way more fun than any straight ;)

Corners cant compare to coming off a transbrake at 6500 and leaving on the bumper :) :2 cents:

For you perhaps - but i prefer bouncing thru a corner at high speed. Don't get me wrong, I lvoe straight line performance, but would prefer to combine it with some cornering. Sitting right on the edge, feels as though you're just about to come off the track with the arse end twitching thru the corner ;) Hmmmm gotta love it
