Why not offer multiple sizes & data rates:

Just examples, but you could do something like:

320x240 @ 220 kbps
640x480 @ 500 kbps
800x600 @ 1000 kbps

if you can offer multiple yes, if not go for 500kbps 320x240 44khz divx, that way dailup and broadband will both be ok...

The problem is that most content providers only sell 320 * 240...... I'm abit suprised that they don't offer higher quality .......

I offer in my members section:

Divx: 640 x 464 , 29 fps, 900 kbps

WMV: 320 x 240 , 256 kbps

My Members get the following formats/sizes
WMV9 640x480 1000 kbps
WMV8 320x240 350kbps
MPEG1 320x240 740kbps

since you already offer WMV8 , you really think it is a plus to offer the same size mpeg1 ?
