Any good new features??

loverboy 09-13-2005 07:15 AM

i don't see any big significant jump from 7 to 8
and this is the only update wherein there is no
pre-release beta version for testing purposes

:smokin

uhm, this is a huge update in flash at least man... the filters and blend modes alone makes it a big step up - we're going to see a lot of really kickass flash because of this..

and dreamweaver, even though i can't get the damn trial to install, is supposed to be big too with a lot of css features.

and what do ya mean no pre-release beta version? there were beta testers if that's what you mean, lol. and the trial is out.

Yeah, Flash with movies and text blending is huge new features, and Dreamweaver with the zoom and the CSS are definitly a big upgrade !!

There's been two 80 day trial beta releases out over the last couple of months.

That no one will be able to see for another 12-18 months till they all have the latest plugin. You're still not allowed to use flash 7 on advertising networks.

DW8 looks like a pile of shit upgrade, can't see a damn thing new... I reckon Adobe is too busy working on DW/PS integration to offer anything great now so just had to pop a few extra features into DW so it could complete Studio8 and get a few bucks for upgrading users from DWMX.

Instead of pissing around with a few CSS enhancements and an interface change or two, how about sticking a debugger in DW (can't be used for serious development unless it can debug asp/php etc).

I keep seeing people saying "I've had it for a while and its crap nothing majorly new" Well what you all have is a god damn BETA, Beta means released to test with some new features, Doesnt mean everything is going to be in the BETA that is released at shipping time.. Usally there is alot more stuff in shipping time than beta, I for one thing some of the new features they have added will save me some time on my work..

haha, dude you don't get it apparently... there are complete newbies who have no clue on how to effectively use filters and blend modes... we will see this play out in the new flash8 - however JUST AS WITH photoshop there will be pros who know how to use filters and blend modes to create a lot of really kick ass shit, especially since we're going to get to see a lot of the common adobe PS filters and blend modes in MOTION.

this is huge in the world of flash animation.
